"You don't have to go if you don't want to, dad." Adriana reminded her father for the forth time tonight as he fixed his tie in the mirror for the fifth. The Peters had accepted the offer to have dinner at the Dunbar's house tonight but Adriana knew her father was nervous to meet new people - he always was.
"Pookie." Her father spoke and she rolled her eyes at the childhood nickname. "I'll be alright, it's just the first formal dinner I've been to without your mother by my side." Adriana frowned at this before nodding and beginning to walk to her room to where her phone sat on her bed, charging as much as it could before she had to leave.
dunbar: we're ready for you whenever :)
adriana: we'll be round in a few :)
"Daaad! Liam said his family were waiting!" Adriana called to her father who was in the room across the hall from hers. She unplugged her charger and turned the socket off before walking downstairs where her father now stood, looking presentable. "Ready?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" Adam Peters spoke with a laugh as he led his daughter out to the car, locking the front door behind himself before slipping into his car and beginning to drive to the Dunbar household as Adriana sang along to the song on the radio loudly.
"I'm glad I'm finally getting to meet your boyfriend and his parents." Adam spoke as he took a left turn and Adriana's voice hitched in the middle of -terribly- singing Ariana Grande's Into You.
"No, dad. Liam isn't my boyfriend. Brett is, sort of.." She mutter, not entirely knowing where she and Brett stood on relationship grounds. "Liam is like the first friend I met when we moved here. He means a lot to me so please don't say anything rude." Adriana asked as politely as she could, glancing over to her father at the end of her sentence.
"I can't promise anything - but I'll try."
On the other side of town, Liam sat on his couch wearing 'fancy pants' and a buttoned up shirt. He wasn't one to dress up but he decided he should probably make an effort tonight. "They're on their way!" Liam called to both his mother and step-father, one in the kitchen whilst the other was upstairs.
"Alright!" His step-father called from the kitchen. Along with being a great doctor, Dr. Geyer was a great chef. Liam smiled happily when he could smell the food's scent drifting through the house.
The doorbell then rang, causing Liam to spring from his sea ton the couch and rush to the door before stopping, fixing his shirt and letting out a quick breath. He moved his hand to the door and opened it, revealing his ever-so-beautiful crush and who he assumed was her father.
Adriana was wearing a dark blue velvet, skater dress with black rimming across the edges along with her high heels and the locket her mother had given her when she was young. Overall, Liam though she looked gorgeous.
