How to Be a Heartbreaker

Rule number one, is that you gotta have fun
But baby when you're done, you gotta be the first to run
Rule number two, just don't get attached to
Somebody you could lose
So le-let me tell you

"Sorry, but I couldn't help notice how cute you were! Could I maybe take you on a date?" You turn around to see an attractive rosy-pink haired man.  You giggle and smile. 

"I don't even know your name silly!" You say twirl your hair around your finger. 

"My name's Natsu! What about you?" 

"My name's (Y/N), and yes i'll go on a date with you," You say handing your phone over.  He fills in is information and smiles at you. 

"I'll see you around (Y/N)!" He says and runs off.

You and Natsu have been dating for a month or so. Natsu think's it's going great, while you are still not really into him. You'd only accepted his date to have a little fun. You'd seen you parents so in love when you were little, but when  you were 12 you caught your in bed with a slut. This absolutely destroyed your mother. You saw her fall into depression and she had hard time pulling herself out enough to support you as a single mother. After that experience you had promised yourself you would never fall in love and get your heartbroken like her.  It was just an emotion that messed with your logical thinking. Anyway, back to your relationship with Natsu. You could've sworn you heard him say the 'L' word. 

****Flashback****

"Thanks for taking me out Natsu," You said smiling the realest looking smile you could muster and kissing his cheek. He turns red. 

"Of course!  So i'll see you tomorrow?" He asks smiling. 

"Yep. Bye!" You said shutting your door. 

"Okay... Love you," He said. You paused and open the door back up. 

"Did you say something?" You ask. 

"N-n-no! I just o-okay! Okay, bye!" He says turning and taking off down the hallway out of your apartment building. 

"Werido" you mutter and close the door. 

****End of Flashback****

Rule number three, wear your heart on your cheek
But never on your sleeve, unless you wanna taste defeat
Rule number four, gotta be looking pure
Kiss him goodbye at the door, and leave him wanting more, more

Two months in Natsu says the 'L' word again. 

"Hey (Y/N)? I've got something to tell you," Natsu says sitting up on your couch. You both were chilling and watching a movie. 

"Sure, what is it?" You ask pausing the movie and turning to him. 

"I think i'm in love with you," He says looking at you seriously. You crack a smile and giggle.

"Haha very funny," You say turning back to grab the remote. You stop when Natsu grabs your hand. 

"I'm serious (Y/N)." He says. 

"Well Natsu. I can't really answer that right now," You say. He nods and gets up. 

"I'll leave you some time to think about it. I have to go anyway, got work tomorrow," He says and shuts the door behind him. As soon as you hear the lock your mind goes into overdrive. He said he loved! You never wanted it to go this far! You just wanted to have a little fun! You sigh and think about what you're gonna do.

"Natsu we need to talk," You say as Natsu sits next to in the park.  

"Sure! What's the matter?" He asks. You sigh bitterly and begin to talk. 

"I'm not in love with you Natsu." You say. 

"Okay...? What does that mean?" 

"I can't go on with charade anymore. I'm not in love with you. I don't even like you," You say through your gritted teeth. In honesty you were lying. You had grown to be quite fond of him, but you'd never say that out loud. That would be admitting to yourself that you had gone back on your own promise and fallen in love.  You stood up and made to leave when Natsu grabbed your hand and muttered one word. 

"Why?" That's when you broke down. You turned around and shoved your face in his shirt. After crying for a few solid minutes, you managed to tell him your parent's tragic love story and the promise you made to yourself. 

"I'm sorry," you murmured into his shirt once the tears had finally stopped falling. 

"It's okay," Natsu said running his hand through your hair in a comforting gesture. You looked up and said three words. 

"I love you,"
