"Looks like mom was sexually assaulted, dad's genital severely mutilated." Emily turned away in disgust. The coroner paused, covering up the two bodies.

"Anything in the tests?" The man shook his head passing me the clipboard he held. I smiled, scanning through the pages quickly.

"Nothing out of the ordinary." I confirmed. Emily nodded, looking over my shoulder. She was on her tiptoes her smaller a hundred fifty-three point two centimeter frame, overshadowed by my a hundred eight-three point five centimeter stature.

"I'll call Grace, see what she can find out about the three." Emily mumbled, stepping out of the room. I watched her momentarily as my partner pulled out her phone and dialled our technical analyst. I probably kept my eye on her pretty physique a second to long.

"She's a keeper," The coroner said, a small twinkle in his eye. Heat rose to my cheeks, I could only imagine the image I was giving off. "You two look cute together you know." My eyes widened at the prospect of that.

Me and Emily as a couple, intriguing. Maybe we'll pursue that sometime. Awkward silenced issued, I stared at my shoes. Emily's heels clacked along the vinyl floor, which was easy to clean blood off of, she cleared her throat breaking the silence.

The coroner and I looked up at her with timid smiles. Emily raised an eyebrow, I shook my head. She rolled her eyes. "So Grace has started on that using the parameters we'd given her. She's going to bring up the whole list and see if anything major matches."

Over the years and the kills, the team and I had created a huge list on the victims of Psycho. We'd categorize them by the time they were killed. From his very first victim about ten years ago to the pair in front of me. Grace listed all the things that stood out and that might be helpful onto their individual profiles, finding a way to connect them if any matches were found. Of course nothing major was ever really found, so we figured that Psycho just killed for the fun of it and to taunt us. He also just chose those whom he figured were victims of opportunity and he never stuck to a proper modus operandi.

"Thank you anyways." I nodded at the friendly coroner. He inturned smiled, looking at me and giving me a quick wink. "What's that about, Mase? Some sort of secret love action or something?" Emily joked catching the wink.

I shook my head no probably a little to eagerly, I lowered my face feeling it heat up.

"Anyways back to the case we're here for, we increased police presence on all campus grounds, specifically near our possible targets." Emily informed me. We piled into the black government SUV.

"Yet another victim was found though. Our UnSub somehow got through security without standing out. Somehow he must've blend in with school staff or students." I mused, thinking out loud. Emily acknowledged it, slipping her hand into her pocket and pulling out her iPhone 5S.

I kept my eyes on the road as Emily pressed the phone to her ear.

"Hey Grace. Yeah, can you pull up lists of staff and students from the past two years." She looked at me, waiting for more things to feed our technical analyst.

"Try anyone with a bad past, or that recently went through something documented." Emily repeated it down the phone.

After a small pause, Emily finally thanked our friend and bade goodbye. "Grace is going to fax the list over after."

"Great." Silence issued, it was rather uncomfortable.

The shrill ring of my phone went off. "Hey Mason?" It was connected to the car's bluetooth system.

"What's up JJ?" My friend sighed on the other end.

"He struck again. This time a lot , and I mean a lot, of rage." Of course, the UnSUb was devolving, which was very dangerous. We had set up shifts of guards to watch those we presumed to be possible subjects. Must've worked.

"What happened this time?" Emily inquired, eyes on the road as well.

"Andrew Kent, forty years of age, black haired and coffee shop owner. Brutally stabbed to death, our UnSub knew exactly where to stab, never hitting major arteries. We know it's linked someway, blood smeared on the walls, giving numbers again."

Emily put her fingers to her temples, massaging them gently. A sign of stress and or a headache. "I hate it when they devolve." She spat. "Now everyone and anyone runs the risk of being a victim."

JJ snorted in agreement. "Ditto."

I pulled onto the parking lot parallel to the Police Station. "Thanks, JJ." I ended the call before another word was spoken.

"Mason?" I turned to Emily. She had placed a hand on my wrist, stopping me from leaving the car.

"Thank you again for you know, coming to the dinner with me. It meant alot." She explained looking at me with big brown eyes.

I smiled, nodding. "Anytime, Emily. It was fun, I'd be glad to do it again." Emily smiled warmly at me.

It suddenly got all quite, time seemed to have slown down. Emily leaned in, lips half puckered. I couldn't pursue a romantic relationship now, my work was my main priority. She leaned in closer, our lips nearly touching.

I stuck my hand out, knocking her a bit in the process. Her eyes flew open, looking in alarm. Puzzled, she looked down and saw my hand. A look of disappointment crossed her face, but she shoved it away, replacing it with a reassuring smile.

"Uh- I'm sorry..." I stammered as she grabbed my hand.

Tears pricked the corners of her eyes. "No, no it's alright. I um just got into the heat of the moment."

"Yeah.." She retracted her hand, and exited the car as fast as she could.

What did I do?
