My eyes fluttered open, only to be greeted with rays of bright sunlight. I turned the other way to escape the light. Silky sheets comforted my bare body as the soft mattress enveloped me. Then it hit me. How did I get on the bed? How did I get out of my clothes? I shrugged it off, most likely having woken up in the middle of the night. Relief flooded through me as I realized my painful, near daily, migraine was gone.

I smiled, running a hand over my face and rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. A half dried cool liquid met my finger. I brought my hand down to eye level and came face to face with a red substance. Blood. My pulse quickened and fear surged through my body. Where did this blood come from? Who's blood is it? Is it my blood? Blood, why is there blood?

"Mason? Mason, I know you're in there. You ok? Mason?" The soft calls were accompanied by loud knocking. I couldn't let anyone see me like this, it was bad enough I got bad migraines almost everyday. "Hold on, JJ."

I got out of bed and stretched. I raised my hands nice and high as I enjoyed the view of Seattle out of the window. Then it dawned on me, I was stark naked, exposing my body for all to see. Oh my god. On instinct, I shielded my body and hastily closed the curtains.

I slid into a new pair of khakis, a white dress shirt and to finish it off, I threw on a brown v-neck sweater vest. I scrubbed the all the blood away and felt no sting, making me come down to the conclusion that the blood was not mine, so where did it come from? I patted my face dry with the fluffy white towels and attempted to pat down my hair. I jogged to the room door and opened it for JJ. Record timing, one minute and forty three point nine seconds.

JJ smiled. "Hey. You feeling alright?" I nodded subtly while bending down to slip on my black dress shoes. JJ handed me my phone and I tucked it into my pocket.

"I'm great. Sorry I just left like that last night. It was just really bad." My blonde friend passed me my bag and we headed out the door.

"We are waiting for you to go through the booklet with us. Thought maybe that brain of yours would catch something irregular we didn't." Her voice was so calming and soothing. I smiled. "Alright."

We walked side by side along the sidewalk, passing bustling businesses and busy people. "There's breakfast at the station. Adam and the Deputy bought Starbucks coffee and treats." Normally after a migraine I'm hungry, and since I didn't finish dinner last night I should've been starving. But I wasn't.

"Great." I faked cheeriness. I must've ate something too last night before going back to sleep.

"Any new victims or leads?" JJ bit her lip, pausing before shaking her head no. I narrowed my eyes at her and stopped walking. "What is it Jayje?"

"No new victims for this case," She pursed her pink lips, an angry frustrated look settling in her eyes. "But the Psycho struck again. Two more victims." I bit on my tongue.

Psycho is the alias we've created for this crazy killer who strikes anyone and everyone. His modus operandi changed all the time, from kidnapping, to raping to plain old killing but he always left his signature behind, to taunt us. Tease us. No one is safe with him around, he'll strike whoever he deems fit to fulfill his fantasy. Psycho has pretty much killed in every way possible we've ever known. He always kills when we are in the area, and he never leaves anything behind to identify him. He's unstoppable, unidentifiable, and one day it won't be impossible to stop this psycho.
