"I'm exhausted." JJ voiced, slumping into a seat. Emily groaned in agreement, pushing her shoulders farther into the plush chair. The tips of Derek's lips quirked up tiredly, then he shut his eyes. His black and red headphones were securely around his fashionably semi bald head. He always enjoyed to plug in after aboard the jet."Forty eight hours and no sleep." Emily complained groaning, her eyes not opening. The engine roared to life, humming contentedly under our feet.
"Did you know, that you'd most likely die from sleep deprivation before you starve to death? Also if you don't manage to get at least six hours of sleep within four days, your life span is bound to decrease rapidly and you are at higher risk of housing cancer." I listed off blankly, my eidetic memory just reading it off of something I've seen or heard of before.
"Yikes," Grace made a sarcastic face. "Thanks boy genius. Our walking dictionary." I blushed, embarrassed at the names. I had memorized and categorized every conversation I've had with everyone I've met, memorized every word I've read. All my colleagues, families and friends wardrobe and every detail was catalogued into my brain. That was an advantage I had over everyone else. Then again it's not always helpful, when I sleep, I dream so vividly of murders and it's like I committed them myself.
"Well at least Mason, here got some snooze." Derek snorted.
"I had a migraine." I said stiffly, feigning interest in a loose thread on my bag. The plane was heading down the runway, the last views of Seattle, Washington quickly passing outside our windows.
"Alright, alright." Derek smirked gleefully. Everyone shared a chortle, then proceeded to do their after case on jet, routine.
The length of the flight usually determined our altered activities. Emily, usually enjoyed to engage in lengthy conversation when she's not making up for lost time of sleep. Sometimes we'd even play a game of chess or cards. JJ, would call her home so she could talk to her son Xavier, her daughter Lily, and husband John. She too would try to sleep but only when not busy on her phone, or being buried alive in paperwork.
Grace, who normally stayed back at Quantico, would usually just do things on her laptop. Watch movies, play games, etc. Adam, who shared part of the media liaison job with JJ, would also carry a load of paperwork aboard. Mr.Hunt also tend to call his twin daughters, Ellie and Ella. David, our most experienced agent and most experienced relationship man, would just sleep. Or stare out a window and think, sometimes even write parts of his up and coming books. Rarely does he engage in a game of chess with me.
And I sleep. I spend at least forty percent of my time aboard the jet sleeping, thirty percent of it completing paperwork and the other thirty playing around. I had no one to call and no one to come home too. My family was stationed in Pennsylvania, while I lived in Quantico, Virginia. Thoughts aimlessly filled my head, as I slowly drifted out of consciousness.

"Reid, Reid. Wake up. Plane landed." JJ poked my cheek repeatedly, like any other annoying sibling would do. JJ and I had been friends since forever, we grew up in the same neighbourhood in Pennsylvania. Our farms were parallel from each other, we're practically family."I'm up, I'm up." I whined slapping away her intruding fingers. She smiled satisfied, mumbling a small 'good' to herself. I stretched out my long legs and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
"Ackerman wants us to complete a full assessment of each case from now on. In case we have a copy cat. I quote directly, 'Not all of us are as smart or as sexy as that Doctor Reid.'" JJ mimicked the voice of our section chief in a high pitched tone, a grin plastered on her face. I gagged at the thought of Ackerman thinking of me....sexually. It's disturbing, considering she's my boss. It is highly inappropriate and maintaining a relationship between colleagues is highly unstable.
