Hi!! Sorry if it's a little bit confusing. But right now the chapter is in Third Person POV bc of our crazy psycho path. Whenever it's in First Person POV it's Mason, Third Person POV something related to Psycho.

Just wanted to clear that up for you! Read on!

*****

JJ wrapped her coat around her a little tighter, the bitter winds seeping all the way down to her bones. The case was very real to her, those children were only sixteen! Barely a quarter of their lives. She couldn't sleep and let the nightmares get to her, her mind could be pretty creative if it wanted to be.

Her options were to simply stare at a wall or go for a short stroll to clear her mind. Back home in Quantico, JJ would love taking walks with her seven year old twins. She would study them carefully and play along with their silly games. It was her little escape out of all the horrific reality.

She slowly let her legs carry her in any direction, subconsciously taking note of the street signs. Hoodlums and other rough lives watched her, giving a whistle at times. She gritted her teeth every time. JJ knew the dangers of a woman out in the dark streets alone, but she had enough to take them down.

JJ kept both hands in her pocket, an attempt to keep them warm and a good way to keep her fingers wrapped around her bottle of pepper spray and her gun. She forced those thoughts away, not wanting negative thoughts. If only Emily were awake.

Emily is practically JJ's sister, they'd met in FBI Academy, back when they were cadets, and became fast and super close friends. She had visited Emily in the hospital numerous times, hoping each time when she entered that room her 'sister' would be awake and lively as always.

Soon. The doctor told her with a small smile. He wasn't lying. She lost a lot of blood, and the bullets hit pretty severe areas, Emily was lucky to have pulled through. JJ blinked thrice, clearing away the thoughts.

She squinted, seeing a vaguely familiar jacket. She recognized the brown curls, tall stature and surely that outfit was worn once or twice by him. What was he doing out here at a time like this? He always needed a proper amount of rest for his migraines.

"Mason?"

He froze, but didn't turn around. JJ was confused, surely he had heard her, but he wasn't going to even acknowledge her presence? That was so unlike him. She sped up her pace, catching up to him. She slows herself down by placing a hand on Mason's shoulder.

Mason shrugs her off, making JJ fall to the ground with a pretty painful thud. "Mason? What was that for?"

Her friend and boss turned to her with eyes of ice, his features pulled into a look of disgust. JJ picks herself off the cold sidewalk, brushing the dirt and small stones off. Mason has a conflicting moment, his face altering from disgust to shock and then to a neutral expression.

"Sorry, you surprised me." He informed her coldly, carrying on his path. JJ narrowed her eyes, pulling him aside to stop him. A flash of anger crosses his face, creating a look JJ had never seen before. She takes a step back, taken by surprise of the look of complete anger on his face.

"What is wrong Mason? It's not like you to let me, nor any other woman fall like that." She challenged with a big amount of authority to her tone.

Mason narrows his eyes, jaws clenching. "Mas- I would never let a woman fall, I already told you, you caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting you to touch me."

JJ snorts. "Whatever, Mase," She stuffs her hands back into her pockets dejectedly, disappointed by Mason's behaviour. God, sometimes men could be unreasonable. "I'm heading back, you should too. Rest up and hopefully we'll get somewhere on the case tomorrow."

She gets on to her tiptoes and leans in to press a sisterly kiss to his cheek, he flinches. JJ pretends she doesn't notice him draw back, and places her kiss on his jawline by his starting stubble. "See you tomorrow, Mase."

JJ walks back in the direction she came in, the recent events storming her brain.

Psycho looks around gritting his teeth. Stupid Mason. Stupid woman. He lost the perfect set of victims because of that damn woman. If his alter ego hadn't had such a strong connection and bond to that blonde, she would've been killed. A couple deep slits here and there, making her bleed out.

Soon, soon enough he'll take over completely. His alter persona is weak minded, it won't be long now. Won't be long until all hell breaks loose.
