"You look great, Em." I complimented. Emily blushed as I let my eyes scan her physique. The mid length sleeveless, surplice neckline dress was gorgeous. The unique side pleating plus the textured frock and asymmetrical skirt was just flattering. It's tight bodice and breezy skirt, brought out all the right curves in her body. The eye catching royal blue colour definitely stood out against her porcelain skin and deep chestnut brown locks.

"Not to bad yourself, Mason." She flashed me a a smile filled with pearly whites. I returned her a small smile, looking down at my own outfit. A pair of black dress pants and a plain blue dress shirt, the tone of blue the same as Emily's dress. Simple and casual but, somewhat appealing I guess.

"Thank you."

It turns out Emily's family reunion was also a small birthday party for her dad. It was small gathering planned, only consisting of her siblings and their significant others plus children if they had any.

"Ready to go?" Emily nodded, checking one last time in the mirror for any imperfections. She then slid into a pair of royal blue velvet stilettos once satisfied moving around a few pieces of hair. I passed her the small silver clutch she filled with her spare money, phone and makeup. Oh and her pocketknife and pepper spray.

Emily Pond, a very well decorated Special Agent, always carried around her handy pepper spray and pocketknife instead of a gun. We walked out of her house, locking the door before piling into my black and silver 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Emily and I sat in comfortable silence, only occasionally humming along to a tune or to give or receive directions.

"Well, here goes nothing. You remember our story?" Emily questioned as we pulled up on the last spot of her parents crowded drive way. I nodded, raising my eyebrow at her.

"You're worried about me? The one with an eidetic memory?" I teased, slamming my door shut. Emily laughed good heartedly, slowly striding towards her parents modern Victorian house. It was coloured in elegant hues of greys and black on the outside, everything was neatly cleaned and trimmed. The inside must be impressive, I mused.

Our breathing got a bit laboured as we approached the door. Just as we made it up to the last step, Emily and I clasped hands. I must say I liked the comforting feeling. Emily pressed a dainty finger to the doorbell, and not ten seconds later the door swung open.

"Emily!" A woman about Emily's height ushered us into the house, enveloping Emily in a bear hug. The woman, who I figured was Emily's mother, had the same physical features as her daughter. They resembled each other greatly.

There was a chorus of 'hello's' to my 'girlfriend' and a number of hugs. Then all pairs of eighteen eyes turned to me, studying me intently. "Mom, Dad, this is my boyfriend, Mason Reid."

Emily's father, frowned deeply at me, green eyes still surveying me. "Hello Mason, I'm Angela, Emily's mother." She greeted cheerfully, shaking my hand.

I put on my best smile and returned the gesture. "So pleasant to meet you, Angela." She made an impressed face, nudging her husband.

"Handsome and manners too! Oh Jack, I believe our little Emily has chosen a wonderful match this time around!" Angela gushed, squeezing her husband's arm. Jack smiled briefly at his wife's remark.

"Nice to meet you young man. Let's go to the living room for some television before dinner, huh son?" I nodded, following Jack to the living room, Emily's two older brothers and two brother in laws came too.

The inside decor was unbelievably elegant. It's an open concept idea, with dark hardwood flooring and blue grey walls. The crown moulding and stone fireplace is so very unique. The Pond's furniture all were in a white colour, even their neat custom built ins. Plus their grey, blue, white rug, their house was very in style. I concluded that their house was well decorated and very nicely designed.
