I fastened my belt on in a hasty matter, the morning not particularly good to me today. The day so far has been frustrating, I don't know why. There's something nagging at the back of my mind, making me very unsatisfied. Unfinished more likely.

I flung on my jacket and rushed out the door. I was irritated today and I wanted this day to be over, done with, gone. My head was pounding, an evil throbbing deep inside of my head.

"Morning." JJ says rather bitterly not even bothering to spare me a glance. I frown, the relief that had just flooded through me, thinning.

"Jayje?" We stride silently to the black SUV, JJ ignoring me and swinging the keys around her finger. "JJ stop," I put a hand on her shoulder which she slapped off violently.

"What the hell was that for? That was so uncalled for." I huffed rubbing my hand gingerly. It started to tinge a light scarlet.

The blonde woman scoffed, glaring daggers at me. "What the hell is wrong with me? Me? Do you not remember your actions last night?"

My brows furrowed in confusion. "Excuse me?"

JJ snorted in distaste slipping into the car. I followed suit. "What did I do? Nothing. I went back to the hotel and slept. The whole time." I reason.

"Really? You're seriously going to play that card right now Mason?" I open my mouth to protest, but JJ holds a hands up, shifting in her seat to face me. "Don't say a word there buddy."

"The least you could've done was apologize, I thought maybe something was wrong last night and you needed some alone time. But you would at least say sorry and you wouldn't make me fall on the ground purposely. Like come on Mason, really?" She vented angrily.

I frown further. "What?"

"Get out."

"What? Jayje are you ser-"

"Mason get out now." JJ growled, jaw clenched tightly.

I purse my lips. "You're over reacting."

"I said GET OUT!" I get out, totally deflated and utterly confused. It made no sense, I went to bed at the hotel, I remember exactly. I got in after a burger from Burger King, showered and went to bed after a quick view of the case.

I remember exactly, drifting off into the inviting realm of sleep with thoughts of Emily occupying my mind. I huff in annoyance, angry that I was confused. I begin to jog over to the police station, a good ten blocks from here.

My feet lightly padded on the cement ground, a good way to start the day and to ponder on my thoughts. A crisp cool breeze was in the air today, the roads packed with cars waiting to go to work.

Confusion takes over, I honestly have no recollection of last night. I know I wasn't drinking, thus no hangover, yet JJ claims I did very rude things when I obviously didn't do them. Something was off here. There was no way I could forget something, after all my eidetic memory picks up everything.

After a good seven minutes I finally arrive my destination. I push through the tinted double glass doors, my breath slightly hitched.

"Morning." I say repeatedly with a small smile to fellow law enforcers. All of them smile good heartedly, the occasional tip of a hat as well.

I quickly make my way to the conference room. "Morning everyone."

Everybody smiles faintly, Adam and Derek hooking their holsters on.

"Wasn't JJ giving you a lift?" Derek asks, raising a dark eyebrow. JJ ignores this and fakes interest on the papers.

"Nope. Felt like taking an early morning jog, good way to start the day." I lie smoothly, slipping over to the small counter positioned in the corner.
