*Lauren's POV*

It's been three days. Three days since I've talked to Ellie.

"I think for now you should just, give Serena some room. Maybe this way the topic won't be brought up. Besides Niall and her are fine so she won't bring it up anyways." Lou had told me when I asked her for advice.

That seems like the best option for now. Ignore the situation. I can't help but feel like a lingering storm cloud is following over me, casting a shadow and waiting for the right time to downpour.

"What's the worst thing that can happen?" Harry had said to me. "Ellie tells the press we are together? Every day I have rumors spread that I'm with someone new. It wouldn't be hard to deny it."

Deny it.

I think the reason I don't want it to come out is because I can't bear to have Harry deny it again. It gets old having your "boyfriend" always tell the press he's single and you two are just friends, but to your face he says he loves you. Sure I understand, obviously, it just gets annoying. The next time I want it in the press I want it to be the real thing, I don't want him to come out yet again and say he is single, I want him to confirm it.

"Lauren dear did you hear me?" Mary's voice pulls me from my thoughts and I look up at her. She's standing across from me at the counter, giving me an amused expression.

"Oh... uhh.." I struggle to repeat what she just said to me but she laughs.

"Oh dear. I said lets start boiling the noodles, here." She hands me a bag full of noodles and I walk over to the stove.

We are at the arena in Ohio in the kitchen backstage. Two days ago the boys played in Kentucky, yesterday they had a day off which was mostly spent driving.

I grab a pot off the rack hanging on the wall and bring it over to the sink, filling it with water.

"Make sure you are putting enough water in Lauren." Marry reminds me and I roll my eyes, knowing she can't see me.

"I'm eyeballing it." I stop the water and carry the pot over to the stove, setting it down and turning on the heat.

"Mhmmm. That leaves a lot of room for mistakes Lauren." I look at her and shake my head.

I love Mary, she is like a mother to all of us here on tour. Actually more like a grandmother.

"I'm sure the amount of water won't affect how the noodles will taste..." I say and walk back over to the island where she is working on cutting tomatoes for her pasta sauce.

"Actually, it does..." She laughs and starts to speak when Liam walks through the door singing loudly.

"It's our party we can do what we want." Liam sings walking towards me and pointing.

I giggle at his behavior then notice someone behind him. Andy Samuels. Fuck. Liam's obnoxious friend.

"Ahhh so that's the cause of your good mood." I gesture to Andy who walks up next to us and puts his sunglasses on top of his head. I try to make my voice sound relatively enthusiastic but it sounds monotone.

"Won't you sing with me Lauren?" Liam asks and starts grinding his bum against me in an obnoxious way.

"Liam!" I push him away laughing and look at Mary who rolls her eyes at us. "Can't you see we are cooking for you fools?"
