After speaking with Mr. Kirisawa you found out that you are allowed to interview anyone related to the case, as long as they agree to it and only if an actual officer or detective assists you. What kind of detective would want to waste a day off just to help me with a cold case? You think to yourself, blowing air through your lips forcefully. You sigh before standing up from the chair you were resting in.

"Oh, (f-f/n), I almost forgot about you being in here!" Matsuda smiles and chuckles nervously. "I guess I got a little distracted with my work." The dark-haired man chuckles again.

"It's fine, I was concentrating on my work as well." You smile kindly, reassuring your newest friend that you took no offense to his statement. "Hm...Hey Matsuda," you begin, waiting for the man to look back to you before continuing. "Would it be possible for you to help me out with my assignment?" You ask, your eyes focusing intently on the man.

"Assignment? Oh! The cold case you were telling me about right?" Matsuda questions and you nod your head in agreement. "I'll help if I can, what did you need?" He answers, the serious expression he gave seeming misplaced compared to his carefree personality.

That serious expression looks so unusual on Matsuda's face, it might take a while to get used to, you think to yourself as a quiet giggle escapes your throat. Matsuda looks at you questioningly until you realize you hadn't answered his previous question.

"Oh! Sorry, got lost in my thoughts again," You let out a small nervous laugh before grabbing a pen and piece of paper from Matsuda's desk. "I need to interview a woman named Kagome Ishida. She was involved in the cold case I'm working on." You inform as you write down information about said woman. "I can't interview her unless an actual detective accompanies me."

You finish writing down the information, consisting of the case file number, the victim's names and addresses, and other important details. You hand the paper to Matsuda and place the pen back in the holder on the desk. Then you look at Matsuda expectantly, awaiting his decision.

"Sure, no problem." He replied after a few moments in thought. "Whenever you want to interview the victim just let me know." He added before standing up and walking you out of the building. You thanked Matsuda before beginning your walk home.

You were on your way home when a sudden hunger began gnawing at you. Hmm, I could go home and fix something. What do I have that I can make? You think to yourself. You get pulled out of your thoughts by a sudden commotion across the street. You shift your gaze to the scene and realize a woman is yelling at a man. They look to be around the same age, and neither of them look very happy. You trot over to them, as things seem to be getting even more heated between the two civilians. You begin walking up to them and before they notice you, the woman yells something that cues you to step in and calm her down.

"You can run from me, but Kira will get you!" The woman yelled, causing the man to begin to turn and walk away.

"Kira only goes after criminals." The man says confidently, before waving his hand in the air to dismiss the ridiculous notion.

"That's true, but if I asked him to kill you then I'm sure he would." As soon as the words left her lips the man quickly turned and started walking towards the woman. Fury was written across his features.

You realized this was only going to get worse, so right before the man reached the woman, you intervened. You stepped in front of the woman, blocking the man's hand as it was reaching out to grab her. An aggravated sigh left his lips as he stared down at you, warning you to leave.

"Excuse me miss." You began, successfully pulling the woman's attention away from the angry man. "I'm sorry to intrude, but you should really be careful what you say. Someone might mistake your last comment as meaning that you personally know Kira. I'm sure you don't want the police to arrest and interrogate you two, right?" You stared into the woman's eyes, inwardly praying that she would calm down enough to listen to you.

"W-well, I didn't mean it like that! I was just...just angry! I didn't know what I was saying! Please don't call the police!" The woman yelped, suddenly realizing the predicament she was in.

"It's okay, I'm not going to tell anyone. Just, if you are going to fight then please don't mention Kira. It might help if you didn't argue on a crowded street as well." You say, your tone firm yet caring.

The woman nods her head slowly before looking to the ground. Well, at least she seems to be ashamed of her actions. That's a good sign. You think to yourself before nudging her in the arm. When her eyes met yours, you smiled brightly before gesturing for her to apologize to the man. She nodded again before smiling slightly in return. She then walked over to the man and mumbled what you assumed to be an apology before he hugged her and mumbled something in return. They both then began walking away, having a seemingly calmer conversation.

"Ugh." You let out a small groan to relieve the tension that had unknowingly formed inside you. "I hope they catch Kira before things really get out of hand." You say to no one in particular. You begin to walk back across the street until you realize exactly where you are. Well, I am hungry. I'll just eat here. You nod approvingly of your thoughts before entering the café that you had first visited only a few weeks before.
