Cassie sat on her living room couch, trying to make sure she'd gone through all of the necessary precautions. She had already mobilized the troops, called her family and Kim Possible, and secured help from Lord Nava, leader of the Kylon Gods and her biological father. She wanted to be as prepared as possible before Sam and Morgan showed up. She knew that a confrontation with the Lee kids was in evitable, but that didn't mean she had to look forward to it. Her sister and Cora were still asleep. Faithful lay on her lap, lazily wagging his tail as she petted him. The house was peacefully quiet. Cassie went over her mental checklist again.

Kim and Ron were on their way. Cassie had gone on a few missions with them and they were always eager to help her out when she needed it. They were good allies and friends, and Shego would just have to suck it up and live under the same roof as her arch nemesis for a couple of weeks. Lord Nava had sent a few of the more powerful Protectors to San Antonio in case Sam and Morgan decided to bring a few of the Warriors along. The Lee family had been working with the Warriors A lot lately, and this new development in their relationship frightened her. It also, however, gave her a huge adrenaline rush. Cassie loved fighting Arianna. Now there was a truly worthy adversary she wouldn't mind seeing again.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of her cell phone. She looked at the caller ID and discovered that it was a number she did not recognize. Faithful jumped up to lick her face just as she answered the phone. "Down, boy!" She said, Gently pushing him away.
"Hello?"
"Hello, my dear."
Cassie smiled.
"Master Salem. How are you, teacher?"

Salem Allan Wakefield was her former teacher and dear friend, and a legend in every sense of the word. He had been a Protector for 300 years and was one of the best in the field. He had held his own against the lord of chaos and had lived to tell the tale. Lord Zeeden had cursed him with immortality, though being cursed with everlasting life never seem to bother Salem much, which she was pretty sure infuriated Zeeden.
"I am doing quite well. In fact, I'm currently on a little road trip. What about you? How is my favorite  protégé?"
" I am well. Road trip? May I ask you where you're going?"
"Why, I am headed to San Antonio. Your father told me that you might be requiring some assistance."

Cassie could hardly contain her excitement. It had been at least three years since she had fought alongside her dear teacher.
"I can't wait to see you," she said.
"And we can't wait either. Say hi, boys."
Cassie Heard several voices shouting hello from the back of Salem's van. "Hey guys. Who all did you bring along this time?"
"Apollo and Avery, Lily, Ashly,  Donovan, Alex, Dean and Ronnie. Oh yes, and Danny and Solo. I almost forgot them. They're sleeping."
"Hey, Cassie," called Solo. "Can't wait to fight with you in the Battle of the century."
Cassie Heard a Coris of happy and excited yells in agreement with Solo's proclamation.
Solo was Salem's loyal companion and friend. He was a spirit guide who's favorite physical form was that of a teenage boy.
"I can't wait either!"
"We will see you soon, Cassie. We are going to stop and get some lunch."
"All right. Bye."
"Bye, Cassie."

Faithful settled down next to her just as Shego entered the room. She had tried to  remain quiet, but her little sister's trained ears picked up her sister's muffled footsteps.
"Hey, Shego."
Faithful wagged his tail in greeting as Shego walked over to them and settled on the couch. Cora followed her and settled down on the couch beside Shego. They both looked better than they had looked the day before. "You guys hungry?"
"Yeah." They both said.
Cassie stood and motioned for them to follow.
"Let's go eat, then."
The other two girls stood and followed her out of the room.
