Saving Shego, a Kim Possible fan fiction

Chapter 5

Cora ate her food in silence. She stared out the window, watching Cassie help Kim Possible, Ron Stopable, Wade and Monique unload the stuff from the car.. Salem and a few other Protectors were also outside. Lord Nava and Lord Hayaus had turned the Hayaus family home into a fortress, and they had spared no expense in case the Lee family decided to come into San Antonio guns blazing. Shego sat on the couch, sulkily staring out the window.

It had been two weeks since Cassie had let them into her life. Things had started to go down hill 5 days after. Protectors were going missing. Kylon children with very powerful abilities were going missing, their guides found unconscious and in hysterics. When they finally settled down enough to speak, they spoke of being tied up and brutally beaten by young Warriors and then being forced to watch as their charges were dragged away kicking and screaming. At the scene of every attack Sam and Arianna left their respectiv signs on the doors of the homes in their victims blood. The Kylon people were panicking. The remaining Protectors were rallying behind Lord Nava, Lord Hayaus, Salem and Cassie. Some of their own had been kidnapped. Cassie wouldn't stand for this. Their were very few Protectors as it was, and to the child of victory and wisdom, it was a declaration of war, one that she had accepted. Her mother, Shreia, Lady of creation had even sent her beloved daughter a gift., highly dangerous predators to be used as soldiers. They were known as Achievers. They were winged wolf like creatures who could shape shift, become statues at will, were highly intelligent, wickedly fast, had thumbs, and were very loyal. Bred to hunt and conquer and born to serve their leader, they could go from sweet and calm to brutal and terrifying in a matter of seconds, all at the telepathic request of their young leader. Cassie adored them. Cora could see her bond with them was growing with each passing day.

"Shego?" Cora called. Shego ignored her.
"Shego?"
"Shego?"
"What?"
Cora was about to answer when Cassie came into the room, followed by two young children, most likely Achievers in their human forms. They fixed Cora and Shego with their dark, dark eyes. "Back, boys."
The two young Achievers slipped into the shadows as everyone that was outside entered the room.

Cassie settled down on the couch across from Cora. The young Achievers stood at attention. Salem sat next to Cassie. The others pulled up chairs. Caine settled down on the other side of his twin and said not a word to Shego.

Cora could hear the rest of the Achievers outside.

"Cora?"
"Yes?"
"Why are the Lee kids after you and Shego?"
Cora looked Cassie in the eyes. "Because your sister and I blew up their lair. As it turns out Sam and Morgan's parents have a little boy. They had kept him locked away because he was too dangerous to be lose."
"So they are after you because you killed their brother and son?"
"No," answered Shego.
"They are after us because he got lose."
"I don't get it," Ron said. "They are villains. Their son is a menace to society. Shouldn't they be proud. Shouldn't they want him lose?"
"Even us villains have our limits," Shego replied quietly.
"Little Theodore is ... different. He is a very disturbed child. He is a child of a dark lord who abandoned him as a young boy. Sam and Morgan wanted a little brother. Mister and Mrs. Lee found him. They adopted him. It turns out the that dark lord knew what he was doing. Theodore had been used as a dungeon master in his father's house. He was in charge of torturing the prisoners. He liked it. His dark powers grew. Eventually he became to uncontrollable."
"How do you know all this?" Asked Solo.
"He told me."
"And Arianna?"
Cora looked at Shego.
"She ... I need to tell you something."
"Oh I know that you had a hand in Arianna's betrayal." Cassie said.
"How did you find out?"
"Sam might try to ruin my life. But one thing she has never done is lie to me. I was hoping to here the truth from you though."
Shego dropped her eyes.
"So now what, Cassie?"
"We prepare for the worst."
