Saving Shego, a Kim Possible fan fiction

Chapter 7

Screams filled the sweet silence of the Hayaus home. Cassie through open the door to her room and flew down the stairs to Shego's room.

Her older sister lay on the floor, tangled in a pile of blankets. Cassie ran over and gently pulled her sister close. Shego thrashed around in her sister's arms. Cassie whispered soothing words to her.
"Shego? Sis can you here me?"
Cassie reached out to gently touch the glowing mark. "Alina," she cursed under her breath.

The mark was hot to the touch and seemed to be pulsing with a life of its own. Cassie rubb her eyes, exhausted. This had been going on for a few days now and she was sick and tired of Alina's sick game. Of course she understood Alina's cruel logic which, if she was honest, made her hate her former comrade even more. Why couldn't Alina and the others just kidnap Shego like any normal villain would? Cassie knew the answer. Alina, Sam Morgan and Arianna were not normal. They were enjoying the fact that she could not stop the psychological torment of her sister even if she wanted to. They were loving the way she was becoming more and more paranoid. The lack of sleep was affecting her ability to lead. And tormenting her sister was not the only way they were reminding Cassie that she was playing by their rules.

Those Kylon children that had been kidnaped had shown up to hack into several bank accounts, commit arson, and vandalize several schools. She and the rest of the Protectors had caught most of them but the ones that were still lose had to be found before they caused anymore trouble. She was certain that the kid napped Kylon children were just a distraction but she couldn't just let them run wild. She was running out of time and Shego was getting worse.

"Cassie?"
Cassie ran her fingers over the mark and Shego relaxed.
"Did I break anything or set anything on fire tonite?"
Cassie shook her head.
Faithful ran to them, wagging his tail. Shego gently stroked the top of his head and the young pup licked her fingers gently.

Kim ran into the room and Shego sat up and gently pulled her sister close.
Cassie lay her head on her shoulder.

"You guys all right?"
The two sisters nodded. Neither of them felt like talking.

Cassie took her sister's hand. The 3 of them sat in silence for a while.

For Cassie, the world had suddenly become a very stressful place. Not even Faithful's playful nature could ease her fears and worries sometimes. She feared for her sister and her people.

For Shego, her life had been turned upside down. She wasn't use to relying on anyone, and yet it felt good to know she had people on her side.

For Kim, life had gone from somewhat normal to crazy in the span of a few days. She and Shego were actually getting along ... well sort of.

As for Faithful? He was a little tired but happy.
