Phil sat in the living room on his phone browsing through Tumblr as Dan finished off the video from yesterday. It was terrible. Although his mood had lifted he didn't know how to sound like himself and falsely upset about Phil's death at the same time. By the time he was finished and the pair of them watched over the video he sounded like a charismatic robot on depressants.
"I can't show this," moaned Dan trying to rub off the black marker ink from his cheeks.
"Sure you can," answered Phil. "Just crop out all the bits you don't like."
Dan highlighted the video and clicked delete. "Done," he said.
"Dan! You've got to start again now!"
"At least the world thinks I'm just depressed," said Dan, which was true, he had been. He flopped backwards onto the bed, hopeless.
"Fine," sighed Phil. "Well leave it for now."
Dan lay silently on the bed and after a while Phil left for the kitchen.
Maybe Dan just needed to get a girlfriend. Then he wouldn't have to wonder about his relationship with Phil. He loved Phil but did he love him in that way? He was his closest friend- his best friend. And having him back was the greatest thing ever. Dan put his hands on his face. He was just confused. One day Phil had been dead and the next he was in their apartment once again.
He didn't know what to do.
Dan stood up and ambled into the kitchen, his head aching trying to process the past month's events. He looked up to see Phil's hand stuffed in his cereal box, his mouth crammed with cereal.
"Really Phil?" Sighed Dan exasperated.
"I missed it," defended Phil, taking his hand out slowly and stuffing more cereal in.
Dan laughed and shook his head as Phil replaced the box back in the cupboard.
"Want some," asked Phil sticking out his hand which was plastered in crumbs, his eyes innocent.
Dan laughed and his emotions were a mess. He loved Phil. But did he love him enough?
