The Dark Side Chapter 11
I was here. He was no where to be seen. He disappeared without saying another word. He has been missing for a few days now. I would wait by the lockers for him but he never showed up. I would wait on my rooftop for him but he never showed up.
He never came and I was worried. Has he been ignoring me? Did I do something wrong? Did he leave because of the incident a few days back? If I had the chance to let him know everything was fine and okay, I would but I have not seen him. There was no way I could let him know now.
I was walking in the city coming from work right now. I enjoyed walking in the city to see the city lights. Being able to think when I'm alone. I was able to enjoy being alone for once without Ashlyn or Harry around.
Cold wet drops would land on my cheek and I would look up to see white, wintry flakes fall from the sky. Crisp, white, shining began covering that transformed the landscape making it a magical land full of wonder and undiscovered mysteries. There was snow covering the ground and on the buildings. Snow covered the windshield of many people's cars.
I pulled my coat closer to my body to keep the heat of my body temperature in. I walked past the many rushing people who were in a hurry to their cars because of the snow but not me. I like this kind of weather.
I felt a hand grasp mine and I pulled back in fright. I turned around to see it was Travis and a friend of his. His chapped lips were formed in a smirk. His friend stood behind him. He was skinny almost too skinny and he looked weary and almost like he was afraid. His skin was pale white like the snow that fell onto the ground. His skin was ink free.
His hair was short and a light brown. His eyes were a green like Harry's but Harry's was nothing like this man's. Harry's were an emerald green and when you look in his eyes you would instantly relax. This man's was the opposite. He couldn't be trusted and neither could Travis.
"Travis." "Annabelle. How are you?" He smiled. It was a fake smile like he was hiding something. "I haven't seen you in a few days. How are you and Harry?" He asked. "We haven't talked in awhile," I said. His devilish smirk grew wider.
"Is that so?" He asked. I stayed quiet thinking it wasn't a great idea to tell him. "Who is your friend?" I nodded my head to his friend in the back. His friend looked down at the ground. He looked young to be hanging around Travis.
"His name is Johnny. A friend of mine from work," Travis explained. Johnny nodded his head with a small smile. I smiled back in response but it quickly faded. "Where is the book that you took?" Travis asked. "Come on. Let's walk and talk," he guided me with his hand on my lower back. "Do you still have it?" He asked.
I shook my head. My blood ran cold underneath his touch. I didn't feel safe around him. "No? Why not?" He asked. "I gave it back to the shop yesterday," I lied through gritted teeth.
"I didn't see you stop by," he said. "You were not there when I came by," I said. "I was there all day. How come you never called me over? I would of come and said hello," he said. "That's what I was avoiding," I muttered. He stopped walking which caused me to do the same.
"You aren't talking as much as I last saw you," he said. He leaned closer to me where I could smell his think cologne. "Don't tell me you are afraid of me?" He chuckled humorously. I gulped and said, "Leave me alone Travis."
I turned around but was pulled back harshly by him. He glared down at me with a clench jaw. "Are you going to run back to Harry?" He spat. "I'm surprise Harry isn't by your side right now."
"Leave me alone," I entreated. I struggled against his strong hold on me. I thrashed in his grip. Where we were now, there was no one. We were alone with his friend standing from a far. It was dark and cold here.
He laughed and gripped onto me tighter. I winced in pain. "Let go of me," I pleaded. "Why? It's fun watching you squirm," he said. "Do you want to hear something?" He whispered in my ear.
I shook my head but he ignored it. "You're quite hot," he said. Shivers ran up my spine. I froze in fear. "If you come with me then you wouldn't have to deal with Harry. I wouldn't mark you like he did," he said as his lips hovered over the mark Harry gave me. I still have a bruise spot but it isn't as dark and noticeable as before.
I pushed him back with all my strength. "I rather be marked by him then be with you," I spat. I turned around but was pulled back again. I thrashed around in his grip but all he did was chuckle humorously.
"Let me go," I yelled. "Why should I?" He asked. I spit on the ground by his feet only for him to laugh harder. "Maybe I will mark you so you will be mine," Travis whispered. The next thing I knew was an arm pulled him back harshly.
Travis landed on the ground with a loud thump. I turned around to see Johnny running away. I looked back at Travis to see a man was above him and throwing numerous punches.
It was dark where they stood and I could barely see who the man was. I was afraid. "Don't you ever touch her again. You hear me?" The stranger yelled. The man's fist made contact again with Travis' face.
The light shined for a quick moment on the two men. Travis' face was bloody and bruised. His lip was split open. The stranger had brown pushed back hair.
I backed up in fear. I slowly made my way out of the alley trying to be unheard. I kept my eye on the two. I bit my lip from letting any sound out. I tripped over my feet; falling with a thump.
The stranger's head diverted his attention on me. His eyes were glowing in the darkness. I gulped and stood up. Then I ran. I ran out of the dark alley as fast I could. I never looked behind me as I ran down the empty streets. I heard the stranger call out to me but I continued to run. I was too afraid to stop and see. I had to continue.
I turned a corner and ran down a dark alley again. The only light there, was a flickering lamp light that was tinted and you could barely see where you were going. I ran to the end only to find it a dead end.
I panicked once I saw the stalking, tall, muscular body outline appeared in front of the alley. His body was shaded where you couldn't see his features besides his long legs, long torso, and pushed back curly hair.
Then in the littlest light, I saw his eyes. The emerald green like Harry's. It was Harry. His hair gave it away and so did his eyes. His messy curls that were pushed back.
I pushed myself off the wall and cautiously walked towards him. He didn't seem to notice since his back was facing to me. I emerged from the alley and slowly walked up to him. I didn't want to alarm him.
His breathing was heavy from anger and the running. His fist were dried with blood. His shirt was spotted with sweat and blood. His sweat reflected off his tattoos making them appear more. He wore dark denim jeans, a white t-shirt that clung to his torso, and his brown boots. His pants hung low on his hips. He had a black bandana wrapped around his head. He looked weary and stress.
I hesitantly walked up to his towering figure. Nervous at first but I build up the courage. I gently placed my hand on his shoulder causing him to flinch under my touch.
"Harry."
