The Dark Side Chapter 21
"Annabelle!" I heard a shout from behind. "Wait up." I stopped walking and turned around to face a smiling, blue eyed boy. I couldn't help but let out a small giggle to see him running up to me. He smiled at me and let out a breath of air before trying to catch his breath. "Hi," he grinned at me after his breathing had calmed down. "Hi," I laughed. "Where are you going?" He asked as we continued to walk. "I am on a walk around the park. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Soccer practice ended just now," he said, "I saw you walking and decided to catch up to you." "Soccer?" I asked. "Us, Americans, call football soccer in America. As for British people call soccer football here in the U.K.," he explained. I nodded now understanding. "I didn't know you were on a football team," I said. "Now you know. This is a great way to start off a great friendship," he grinned. I let out a laugh as I nodded agreeing.
"Hey, I was wondering. If you aren't busy or anything," he scratched his head awkwardly. "Luke," I smiled teasingly at him. He looked up at me with a half smile. "Are you trying to ask me out on a date?" I laughed. His cheeks turned bright red as he stuttered over his words, "I-I no? I don't know." I giggled and placed a hand on his shoulder but a voice cut me off before I could say anything.
"Annabelle?" The familiar husky voice ask from behind. Luke's eyes diverted his eyes to behind me. "Is this your brother?" Luke grinned. He brushed my hand off his shoulder and walked over to the fuming man with a smile on his face. He held out his hand for Harry to shake but all he did was ignore it. Luke pulled his hand back awkwardly. I let out a sigh and walked over to the two men.
"Harry this is Luke. Luke this is Harry," I introduced the two. Knowing Harry, I knew he wouldn't make an effort especially him being in a jealous and infuriated state. Luckily, he was good enough to hide it but not from me. I can see it right through him. He knew too.
"Hello Harry. You must be Annabelle's brother. I must say she is gorgeous," Luke grinned causing me to blush and Harry to grow even more furious. I nervously chuckled and stepped in between the two before Harry would do something he may regret later on. "Anyways Luke," I took a quick glance at a curious Harry before looking back at Luke to speak, "about me not being busy. I would love to go out for a night with you. How about this Friday?" At the same time, Harry and Luke both said, "What?" I nodded and shot a glare at Harry who huffed and crossed his arms.
"You would?" Luke asked, I nodded. A grinned stretched across his lips. "Okay. I will pick you up at eight o'clock. How is that?" He asked. "Perfect," I smiled. "See you Friday," he said before running off back to his mates. I smiled and began walking, leaving behind an anger and confused man. I heard his footsteps jog up to me and his hand grip onto my wrist. I flinched and pulled back.
"What was that? Are you serious about going out with him?" He spoke with disgust in his voice. "Sorry Harry. Unlike you, I like to go out and have fun. Not sleep around," I frowned. "What's so different about him from me?" He scoffed. "He is a gentleman," I spat. His eyes furrowed into a frown. "What ever happened to the 'I love you' you said to me? I thought you were mine and only mine," he growled. I frowned back equally as angered as him and said, "Like I said before Harry. You do not own me." His features soften before hardening once again. "Watch your mouth. I own what's mine," he seethed. "I marked you. Everyone knows it."
"I. Am. Not. A. Toy!" I pronounced each word with authority. "Stop being so demanding and possessive. If I want to go out with a male friend then so be it. I may love you Harry but we are nothing more then friends because you don't know how to love." I rolled my eyes and walked away from him. Before I disappeared in a crowd, I heard his last words. His voice sounded weak and broken.
"You don't know my story."

"Listen Annabelle. All I am trying to say is you shouldn't have done that," Ashlyn shrugged. I raised and eyebrow and said, "All I did was put back a book." She let out a giggle and grinned. I smiled and rolled my eyes. "What would I ever do without you," I said. "Die of boredom," she teased. I snorted and said, "Sure. Okay." She smiled teasingly at me. "You have to agree-" "Shh!" The librarian hushed us.
We looked back at the older lady who stood there with a frown. "Sorry," we whispered. She rolled her dull green eyes and walked away back to her desk. Ashlyn and I walked the opposite way from her so we wouldn't disturb her. "What crawled up her arse?" She whispered. I giggled quietly and shrugged. "I heard," she said. I glanced up before pulling out a book and diverting my attention onto it. "About?" "You and this Luke guy." "How do you know already?" I asked, clearly surprised.
"I know some people," she grinned. I scoffed and smiled. "You know everyone's juicy gossip," I said. "It's what I know and do," she winked, "and I want to know him." I smiled up at her knowingly. "I said shh!" The librarian hushed us from across the room. "We are old hag!" Ashlyn frowned. I covered my mouth from letting out a laugh. The librarian rolled her eyes and looked away. I placed the book back on the shelf before making my way to the front exit.
We exited out of the library before making our way down the sidewalk. "Anyways, before we were rudely interrupted, how is it going with Harry?" Ashlyn asked. "Eh," I shrugged. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Long story short He is being possessive once again over me just because I am going out with Luke this Friday night," I shrugged. "You're going out with Luke?" She asked. I nodded, "Yeah this Friday. Why?" "Good." "Good?" "Yeah. Good. You need to get away from Mr. Bad Boy Styles. He isn't good for you Annabelle. He is... different. A bad different," she said.
"You have told me once before Ashlyn. I know I have to watch it but I can't help but love the guy," I admit. "You what?" She gasp. I nodded. "You heard me. I love him," I shyly blushed. "Did he say it back?" She frowned. "Sort of. It took him awhile until he told me the night of the club," I said. She shook her head. "Annabelle. I have no words," she said. "Is that a bad or good thing?"
"Either one are bad," she said. "Well, I love him. That's all that matters," I blushed. The moment was ruined by her harsh words. "Yeah well just know he doesn't love back," she spat before walking away. I ran my hand through my hair and let out a stressful sigh before walking a different direction from her. Her words echoed in my mind along the way home. As much as I don't want to admit it, she is right.
Harry Styles doesn't fall in love.
A/n: Hello everyone! Sorry for the short chapter. Anyways, I am thinking about putting this story on hold once again for some reasons. The main one is to focus on Only Hope but I may not. As for now, there will be slow slow updates. Also, Luke is played by Freddie Highmore. He looks like what he does on the show Bates Motel :) Just a reminder!!
