Chapter 12: It will be easy?

The screen came on to show Jack reaching into a hole and pulling out a small sphere of pure gold. Rapunzel reached out and took it mesmerized by it, then in shot back into the hole.

It was like a trance had been snapped as everyone yelled "WHAT!"

"Not so fast flower, the gem will only follow you if you know your centre" laughed Gothel appearing on the stairs with a whirl of her clock. All three of the Guardians raised their weapons. Gothel swooped down on the orb and picked it up, "I'll be off now flower she laughed, but before she could move her clock froze. "You have something that belongs to us" growled jack as Gothel glared at him.

"Well guys your fighting without Hiccup and a dragon so this could get interesting" Snorted Tess, "Sorry thinking aloud" she laughed. But everyone was silently agreeing in their heads.

From below Toothless could be heard trying to get up to the three. Gothel turned on the three and raised her arms, flames surrounded jack and he fell to his knees panting, while Merida and Rapunzel were surrounded by shadows and fear. "Ah poor children, what are you going to do now, no dragon, no plan, no hope" Gothel sneered. Rapunzel looked around and though hard, then a song from the very edges of her memory rose in her head, a quite tune started. A vision of Hiccup appeared next to Gothel and he looked at the three, though only Rapunzel could see him and smiled raising his hand and holding it out to Rapunzel.

"Arg creepy dark magic!" yelped Tuff.

"Hope" Rapunzel whispered to the vision of Hiccup, the brown haired boy smiled and nodded, the camera zoomed into Rapunzel's green eyes to show a flashback of the four sitting in the forest and Jack muttering sadly. Hiccup then stood up and said to jack," There is always Hope". The flashback was grey and black and Hiccups voice sounded distant. Rapunzel stumbled and Merida looked at her worriedly, "Rapunzel are you OK?" Rapunzel looked at Jack who was struggling against the heat and then to Gothel laughing and finally to Merida who was panicking. "There is always Hope" Rapunzel said to Gothel.

"Glad to know I'm still helpful" laughed d Hiccup. And Rapunzel hugged him, making Astrid's eye narrow from behind them.

Rapunzel:

It started out as a feeling, Which then grew into a hope, Which then turned into a quiet thought, Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder, Till it was a battle cry, I'll come back, When you call me, No need to say goodbye

Merida caught on and started singing the next verse as shadows stared to crawl up Rapunzel covering her mouth

Merida:

Just because every thing's changing, Doesn't mean it's never been this way before, All you can do is try to know, Who your friends are as you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon, And follow the light, You'll come back, When it's over, No need to say goodbye, You'll come back, When it's over, No need to say goodbye

Merida was also covered in shadows and Jack forced himself to his feet and look straight a Gothel.

Jack:

Now, we're back to the beginning, It's just a feeling and no one knows yet, But just because they can't feel it too, Doesn't mean that you have to forget, Let your memories grow stronger and stronger, 'Till they're before your eyes

The Shadows and Flames dispersed and the three stared singing together.

"You sound incomplete" commented Tooth.

All:

Gothel backed away straight towards the window. Rapunzel stepped forward "Gothel I want you to know that you don't need to follow Pitch, I forgive you." Rapunzel said gently, As she said the word Forgive she shone with a golden light and the golden orb flew into her hand. Gothel growled eyes wide and disappeared in a flap of a cloak.

"Your centre, Forgiveness" North cried heartily.

"Good job Punzie you found your centre!" Cried jack happily summersaulting. "Yes no let's get to the Highlands" Rapunzel said as she swung down the tower on her hair followed by Merida and Jack floated down. S they took of on Toothless Merida spoke up "So Rapunzel how did you know that hope would save us" she asked. Jack turned to look at the girls.

"And this is where you sound completely crazy" Chuckled Hiccup and The dragons snorted in amusement as well as a few others.

"I know this sounds crazy but I saw Hiccup and he almost showed me a flashback o him telling jack that there is always hope" Rapunzel explained blushing...silence. "So you're not surprised or you don't believe me?" Rapunzel questioned. Both Jack and Merida laughed. "Punzie you are flying on a dragon with a flying boy that can control ice and you have met Santa, the Easter kangaroo, the tooth fairy and the sand man, why on earth would we not believe you." Jack laughed.

"I'M A BUNNY!" yelled Bunny

"Not much makes sense in this world" agreed Merida. "Anyway I think I understand part of my riddle." Both of the other two looked at her. "There is a circle of stones where I turned my mum back into a human and where I defeated Mor'du" explained Merida. They were now flying over the highlands.

"Wow Corona and DunBroch are really close to each other" Fergus stated making the king and Queen of Corona shift a bit.

"There!" yelled Merida as they landed in a circle of huge stones. One of the stones was lining face down on the ground. Merida confidently walked over to wear the hidden entrance to the tomb was but only to find nothing, the late afternoon sun shone on grass. "It's gone" Merida gasped. Rapunzel though for a second before crying out "Of course we forgot the second line about a deadline, I bet we need to be in and out of the tomb at a certain time." Jack nodded

"It couldn't be easy could it?" yelled Merida making Tess smile.

"What time did you turn you mum into a bear?" Asked Jack. "Well it was about Midnight when she changed and I had to get her back to human form before dawn." Merida said thinking deeply. "So I guess that we can get into the tomb at midnight and be out before dawn," Rapunzel said slowly. "yea we just need to wait it will, be easy" smiled Jack. "Say that again" Whispered Merida as she pointed to the setting sun, there fling towards them where at least a hundred nightmares and Mor'du. The three braced themselves and Toothless crouch charging up a plasma blast.

"By thor" whispered Hiccup. "As I said it couldn't be east could it!" yelled Merida.
