Chapter 11

"Date Night"

Eve and I looked ourselves over one more time before she dragged me down the stairs just in time to hear the doorbell. She looked at me and whispered "Be nice!" before opening the door and wrapping herself around Garrett and shoving her tongue down his throat. I rolled my eyes and then a blonde head caught my eyes as he leaned and peeked out from behind Garrett and Eve. He smiled at me and waved.

"Hi." he said as he walked around them to shake my hand.

"Hi yourself," I said back.

"Jeremiah," he stated simply.

"Rayne," I replied.

He was cute. Blonde hair, brown eyes. He had a pretty smile and was pretty tall. Probably not as tall as Xander but her was up there. I couldn't help but compare him to Xander, my brain wanders to him at the most random times in the day. I shouldn't be surprised that he would pop up while I was looking over my date who seemed to be looking me over as well.

I smacked Eve in the back of her head lightly and messed her hair up.

"Hey!" she jumped off Garrett and looked at me annoyed.

"Can we go? Or was the reservation for midnight?" I asked.

She grabbed Garrett walked off to the car and Jeremiah held his arm out to me and I took it, following the other two to the car. Me and Eve hopped in the backseat while Garrett drove. About five minutes down the road Jeremiah cut the music off and turned around to face me.

"You ladies look beautiful tonight," he aimed the compliment at both of us both never took his eyes off me.

I blushed and looked away, mumbling a thank you. Eve on the otherhand had to open her big mouth and say something dumb like, "And you're lookin' hotter than a blacktop in Arizona!"

Jeremiah laughed and said thank you while my face turned a shade redder. "What about me?" Garrett asked with a playful smirk on his face. Eve leaned up and wrapped her arms around him from behind his seat and started whispering in his ear.

"That's so disgusting," Jeremiah said to me.

"It's not that bad. Annoying? Absolutely. But not disgusting," I laughed.

"You're a girl so you probably think it's cute huh?" he asked, teasing a little bit.

"Yeah a little," i admitted and we both laughed.

Eve stopped her canoodling and looked at us laughing, making a face. "What?" she asked.

We both just laughed again at the look on her face and she laughed a little too, smacking my arm playfully. "Shut up," she said, crossing her arms and pretending to be annoyed. Jeremiah shook his head and turned back around as we pulled into town.

We parked at the beginning of the strip so we could walk down it and see what all was going on tonight. As we were getting out Eve started fanning her face and mouthing the word 'hot' at me while nodding towards Jeremiah. I laughed and winked. Eve and Garrett walked ahead of us with his arm around her shoulders and her arms around his waist. Jeremiah looked at me and smiled his pretty smile and I smiled back.

"So where are you from?" I asked.

"Arizona," he said and I laughed at the irony.

"Seriously?"

"Nope."

I gave him a face and he chuckled. "I'm from Maryland. Came out here to live with my aunt, well Garrett's mom. My parents wanted to travel and I didn't want to live in an RV." He turned his nose up at the thought.
