Wolves

I started to back away slowly. I can't call for help. It might scare the wolves away when they see a lot of horses and then I would be like the one story of the boy calling wolf all the time.

Then some wolves started whimpering. The leader of the pack turned around. Another wolf was fighting off the wolves in front of me.

They ran away and the one attacking them stayed behind.

"H-h-hello," I said, my voice shaking of course.

"No need to worry. My name is Thunder. I make sure that your herd is safe from those wolves. I sent them inside their places, I knew something like this was going to happen. I better go," said the wolf.

He ran off, without saying bye or me telling him who I am. Anyways, I went to the door with the name Pallie on it.

"It's me, Sarah. If you can hear me, please open the door," I said. The door opened and I stepped inside. "Thanks."

"What happened to you. You look like you just seen a wolf," Pallie said.

"Because I have seen one. I was almost attacked by a pack of them. Then Thunder came and saved me," I said.

"Oh that's nice of him. Come in. Come in," Pallie said.

I went inside more, and into the kitchen. Pallie was somehow making dinner. That's when I asked,"How come you don't have wings or a horn?"

"Oh, yea those. Some horses can't get them in our herd. I'm one of them. I just hope Redbull is not," Pallie said.

"I'm sorry to bring it up. I was just curios," I said.

"It's ok. I just wonder how I am one of them sometimes," Pallie said.

There was an awkward silence for a few minutes. A voice rang out saying,"Momma, I heard Sarah's voice. Is she here?"

Redbull came trotting into the kitchen. "Oh my gosh, it is you!"

"Hello," I said.

There was a scratch at the door. A growl came next. "The wolves are here!" I whispered.

"Quick! To my room," Pallie said. We silently trotted to her room. Somehow the door locked.

A light turned on and I saw Redbull next to me. I lied down, knowing that we will be here for a while.
