Leafs and swigs crunched as I continue to make my way down the dirt path. With my hazy vision and shallow breathing it was extremely difficult to carry out with my journey. Yet with the little energy I had, I forced my limbs onward. My legs begin to shake beneath me. I ignored my body and kept going.

About half way I collapsed, falling on noting but the chilling damp soil and snow. “No... I c-c-can’t stop!” Before I lifted myself up I transformed back into my human form. “Ugh!” I groaned, slowly picking myself back up. I winced in pain and with each step I could fell each joint in my body pop and creak as if I was a beat down machine. Finally, I made my way towards a near by tree, leaned against it and glanced down at my filthy body. Crimson blood was dripping from all of my wounds – rapidly. “You’ve got to be kidding me!” I whispered while rolling my eyes with what tiny energy I had left. I was covered in blood; head to toe. And the small amount of clothing that was on my body, which consisted of a sports bra and boy shorts, was ripped and stained with my body fluid.

At least it’s not bad enough to leave any scars.” I thought hopefully to myself. I pushed myself away from the tree and sustained walking down an undersized hill, making my way towards the meeting place. I stopped for a second and sniffed the air. “Yes, almost there.”

I struggle the rest of the way; my body was becoming numb. “I don’t know how much longer I can take this pain…”  I brought myself to a halt and laid on a gigantic, smooth rock. I was only a few feet away from the gathering site. Werewolves were mingling together from other packs, all looking like they are having a swell time. Some of their faces changed, guessing they just smelled my blood. But they just shook it off and continued to enjoy themselves. I spotted a couple of members from my pack, including Safari and Julia. Safari was being her bubbly self and talking to everyone. Julia was chatting with some men her age. I smiled, hoping she finds her mate. I can only hope that I stay single though one more mating season. I sighed. “At least I made it.” I say to no one in particular.

“Safari…” I struggled to say even though our mind link.

“Valkyia? You made it! Umm, ok I’m just meeting some new people but I’ll be at the entrance in a second to come get you.” I was becoming dizzy, the scenery around me spinning. “Ok. Hurry.”, for I wasn’t sure how much longer I could resist the agonizing pain.
