“If one dream should fall and break into a thousand pieces, never be afraid to pick one of those pieces up and begin again.” ~ Flavia Weedn

The light was blinding. “Who’s there?”  My voice sounded like a little girl’s. Which in this case it was how I felt and normally I would hate myself for it but I’m dead, what do I care?

“Valkyia…” I gasped. That voice! I sat up and then he appeared out of no where.

“Luke?” I asked with disbelief.

“That’s right it’s me. I came to tell you something essential. I know you miss me, as I do you but you must let go. I need you to move on and find you true mate. Don’t hurl your future away because of me.”

I stared at him with no expression. ‘Did he just say he wanted me to move on and forget about him?’

“That’s exactly what I said.” he smirked.

I smiled. “I see you haven’t changed.”

“The same goes to you.”

My face fell and sadness took over. “But how am I supposed to forget about you? You were a big part of my life. My heart truly thought we were mates. And then it happened. How am I going to move on?...”

“That’s for you to figure out my dear. Just know that it will all work out in the end.” He glanced at the another flash of light that appeared.

“I have to go. I will always care about you Valkyia and don’t you forget it.”

“No don’t leave me! Luke! No..!” I yelled after him but it was too late. I started to cry but stopped when I replayed the words he said in my head. I smiled. “I never really lost you did I Luke? You were here with me the whole time.”

But before I could get too comfortable, another horrifying memory of my life…

We had just gotten attacked by vampires. Blood was all over the place, the house was destroyed and all I knew was that my Sister, Julia and half of the pack that survived was safe. But I wasn’t so sure about myself. I had some tenderness in my left side but that was it. My parents where no were to be found and the other half of the pack was already dead. I just got done decapitating my seventh vampire of the evening. “Now time to go locate Mother and Father.” I shifted back into my human form only wearing a sports bar and underwear. I sniffed the air. “Damn, there is so much blood that I can barely smell my own scent.” At that moment, that’s when I heard screams. I ran right towards the direction in which it came from, which was on the other side of the courtyard. The scene that I found left me breathless and in shock. My Mother’s and Father’s bodies were destroyed and covered in blood. “No they can’t be d-dead…” I cried immediately and fell to my knees.

“You will be next, my dear. So I would watch my back if I were you.”

I look up to see where the voice where it came from. He was a vampire, a very ugly one that was cover in blood. I snarled at him. All he did was smirked. I looked at his appearance again, and he was covered in massive amount of blood. I sniffed the dark liquid – it was my parent’s blood

I then stood up, growling “You bastard! You did this! Now you’re going to pay!”

He let out a dark laugh than vanished…“All in good time my dear, all in good time…”

Anger and sadness filled my body. I wanted him demolished! But I knew even though my parents were killed my this creature they wouldn’t want me to live my life in vengeance. I sighed.

‘I guess there are no more tears…’

I became exhausted and my eyelids started to close. But before I did, a vivid luminosity caused me to sit back up and ogle into it.‘No, it can’t be…’

I forced all of my focus on the illumination.

“Is that really you?”

No answer. All there was were my parents in front of me with full-size smiles on their faces.

“We are very proud of you sweetheart.” They said in unison. I began to cry, again.

‘I guess there are additional tears.’ They both chuckled

“Live your life in high spirits, Valkyia and look towards the future.” They then both kissed my forehead and drifted back into the light.

“No not you too. Please don’t go…”

“We will love you, always.” I only cried a little before I knew what I had to do. I then stood up and stalked towards the white light…
