“If you call one wolf, you invite the pack.” ~Unknown

Sunlight broke through as I pushed the doors open. A cool breeze brushed my skin as I stared at the scene before me. All of my wolves stood in aliment with relief and pride covering their faces. Growling lightly yet meaningfully, I lifted my head high making my presence known. Safari and Julia both took their spots with the rest of the pack. The heat beamed as they kneeled and lowered their heads. Taking only a couple of steps, so that I could stand in front of them I spoke,
“Arise!”
All did so accept my Delta, Richard. I walked were he was placed and studied him. “You may address me Richard.”
Richard nodded, and then stood. “I just want to state my thanks to your service, Alpha. I believe when I say this, I speak for the entire pack,” he gestured to everyone and they all nodded in agreement, “Your dedication has nearly gotten you killed. And just trying to comprehend what you have been through the past few years! It’s amazing! Yet, I don’t feel that we have shown any true gratitude.” A genuine small began to form on my lips.
“And as far as we can tell…You must have given it to those bloodsuckers good! Considering that your opponent always ends up worse than you!” I let out a heart filled laugh, the sound of howls and yells joining me. I sighed and shook my head.
“Ok, that’s enough! There is no need to be thanking me. For being healthy and alive is all I ask from you in return. My service would be for nothing if you guys weren’t around. Now for what has happened to me over the years,…” I slowly glanced at Julia, then Safari, “…I believe it has only made us stronger.” I gave a big toothy grin, as I walked back to the center of the pack’s formation.
“As for those rotten leeches, their disintegrating bodies mean nothing. These scars are just proof to what glorious fight took place”
More hoots and hollers were made after that statement. I wouldn’t be surprised of all the others packs could hear mine celebrating.
“...But now,” The ruckus stop quickly as I spoke.
“I believe it is time to depart! The Alter awaits us! Let our introduction as Arctic Wolves be known! Remember! Jump into as many battles as possible! Pause Just know that your future mate may be watching.” As I ended, the whole pack phased together and then a course for howls broke lose. A horn was then blown as a reminder. I jogged towards my sister.
‘Safari, lead the pack for now. Last I checked Alphas are announced much later into the ceremony. Once ya’ll are settled, remind everyone what to do when all the other horns are signaled. Make sure no one gets out of line and…’
‘Valkyia, I can handle this,’ I growled at her as a warning,
‘Just don’t make a fool out of me.’
Safari nodded, ‘Of course, Alpha.’
I nudged her body, ‘Now go.’
Safari howled for the pack to follow. Every wolf did so and as I saw the last of their tails go into the forest, I sighed. I sat in the snow, tail wagging. Adrenaline was rushing through my veins as I impatiently waited for my call. Only a short ten minutes later, a louder horn was blown. I mentally smirked. I rouse ready, letting out a long and intense howl. I then started my sprint into the cluster of trees.
‘Let the games begin.’
