“Why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake?” Leonardo Da Vinci
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Alpha Xavier was the first to reach The Alter’s marble steps, and I saw his enormous black form for the first time- midnight pelt, large glowing fangs, and his wonderful, shimmering, golden eyes……I quickly stopped myself from thinking such thoughts and cursed at myself. ‘Enough of that!’Next was Alpha Seth, a small wolf for an Alpha with tawny fur and sun burnt orange eyes; I didn’t care much to give him a second glance. As I reached the steps, I was abruptly shoved out of the way. I growled loudly, warning none other then Alpha Jet. He bared his fangs at me, and then shrugged me off as if I held no rank. I sneered at him, and just before I was going to lung at him, I felt Safari push into our closed link,
‘Sister, I understand your frustration but the rules have changed!’
I growled again, this time more in annoyance. ‘What are you talking about?’ I hissed out, my anger getting the better of me.
‘The rules of battle! They have changed! You mustn’t challenge Jet here! The Circle is no longer the area of which battles take place. It is held in a more specific area, and only there can you challenge him!’ I sighed, ending the conversation and closed our link once again. Right as I was about to take my steps up The Alter, I stopped mid-action to see all three males take their post at the rock pedestals that awaited us at the top.
I narrowed my eyes at the scene; all male Alphas glared down at me as if I wasn’t their equal. ‘They think I’m just a mere Omega huh?’ This isn’t how it was meant to be though. A female Alpha? How insane to think such a thing! As dominate males of course they wouldn’t think other wise! And it was such a shame for them since they didn’t have a say in the matter and truth be told, I was the strongest in my pack. My rage slowly began to boil on such thoughts yet they were quickly forgotten. By this time Veronica and Axel had reached the steps to take their positions, their eyes looking upon me knowingly. They understood my situation better then most wolfs, and for that I was greatly appreciated. I bowed showing my respects and they gladly returned it as I gracefully took each step with pride. Once I reached the top I glanced at each of the males beside me, my gaze lingering on those glorious gold orbs; the depths of his eyes held no emotion other then dominance. I sat on the garnet stool, awaiting the last horn. I grinned mentally as the packs stood when the signal was sound. Then simultaneously the Alphas broke out in powerful growls and howls. I had begun mine with a fearsome growl that showed my fangs, evidently ending with a howl. Every pack joined in soon later, making the forest shake with our cries to the moon. Just as fast as our outbreak began, it stopped and every wolf shifted.
I felt the most snow under my feet, the sun on my face and the wind dancing all around me; it was a wonderful feeling being so close to nature. Alphas were the last to shift and I could feel all eyes on us. Axel was the first to speak:
