Sunrisewas occurring and our physician was giving me one final check up before she released me. “Looks like you’re completely healed, hardly any scars and mild bruising. Nothing I’m sure you can’t handle Alpha Fang. I will sign your release paper.” I nodded my head. “Battle wounds shall be a pleasant showing…”

            “Many thanks Doc.”

“No, my greatest gratitude is to you.” I was clueless to what she meant.

            “…For slaughtering the vampires and protecting all the wolves.” My sister told me.

“You’re welcome.” The Doctor nodded her head, bowed, then left. Once the door closed Safari slapped my arm. “What was that for?” I asked chuckling. She knows she can’t harm me. Safari just shook her head and slapped my head.

            “Hello? This is becoming quite irritating.” I said while rubbing where she had hit me. Don’t get me wrong. I love the fact that our relationship is stable once more but abusive? Ha! No worry, once we exit the room, Alpha mode becomes reestablished.

“I swear you are so oblivious sometimes!”

            “Oh? I am, now am I?” I arched a brow.

“Yes! In fact you are so unaware, that it is embarrassing to call you my sister!” she had a playful smile on her lips. I gasped in shocked, playing along,

“Oh my! Me? Valkyia? Making you embarrassed? Now that hardly sounds like me!” Each word was dripping with sarcasm. She just slapped my arm again.

“What’s with all the slapping!” She shrugged her shoulders, then patted my head. “I just love messing with ya.”

            “Right back at’cha.” I said while smirking. “ So Safari did you bring me some clothes to change into?”

~SILENCE~

            “Safari you lazy excuse for my Beta! You better have because I’m not going to be seen like this!” I was still wearing that damn gown!

She waved her hands at me playfully. “Don’t fret. I brought some panties and a sports bra. That’s all you are going to need though. Today is the day where all the packs meet at The Alter for introductions. So right when we leave the doors you and I are going to have to shift and round the pack up for leave.” She said matter-of-factory.

            “It’s time already?... You do have a point though, thanks for all you’ve done Safari.”

She winked at me. “No worries. It’s my job.” She left the room, the door closing with a click as she exited. I stared at the door only a few seconds before getting out of the bed and grabbing the clothing that Safari had brought for me.

            As I walked into the bathroom I was slightly surprised to see no scaring on my face from the scratching. I shrugged it off and stripped myself of the gown and slid on my undergarments. When I finished putting on my underwear, I saw that a few scars resided on my hips. “What lovely battle scars. They’ll have the pack talking for ages…” I mentally shook my head. After my clothes, I tossed my hair in a neat pony-tail and headed out.

            Closing the door behind me I noticed all eyes on me. I continued walking. The doctors and nurses must have noticed my lack of interest in their gawks that they went about their work. I rounded a corner of the hallway, making my way toward glass doors. Before I could reach the doors any further, four workers approached me, bowed while murmuring a considerate “Thank you.” They turned on their heels in a hurry to get back to work. As they did so I whispered in reply “You welcome.” knowing they would hear me. A few more feet my legs took me to Safari and Julia waiting patiently by the door. They both lowered their heads as I stood next to them.

“It is time Alpha.” Julia spoke.

            I nodded “Yes. Let us take our leave.” Julia nodded as well. We faced the doors, my Beta and Gamma waiting for my signal.

“Are you ready, sister?” Safari questioned. I responded with an eager growl.

“Ready as I’ll ever be.”
