Percy kissed Annabeth awake. She was so cute while she was sleeping, but if he didn't wake her up for her nine o'clock meeting, she would kill him.
She groaned and rolled over. Her naked body still covered in his blankets. Oh she was so cute.
"Annabeth, wake up. You got a nine o'clock meeting and it's eight." He told her. He kissed her cheek again. "I mean, if you don't want to shower, we can replay last night."
A smile appeared on her face as she began to giggle. Her eyes opened and Percy couldn't help but smile at her gray eyes.
"I need to go before my mom gets mad. For all I know, she could be sending someone to my apartment to make sure I've left." Annabeth smiled. "But later, maybe."
Percy smiled and kissed her again. "I'll make the coffee."
He sat up and grabbed his boxers from the floor. He got out of bed and put them on before heading to the kitchen which was a few feet away.
Annabeth smiled at him as he thought about the two months of sneaking around.
It was great. She got to be with a guy that made her happy and gave her a thrill to be with since they couldn't be together. Sort of like Romeo and Juliet, except she prayed that neither one of them would die.
She got out of bed, not caring about the blankets dropping from her naked body before going to the shower.
When she came out, Percy had made her eggs and bacon with her coffee. When Percy told her that he wasn't vegetarian like his dad, it shocked her a bit. As an environmentalist, she would think that he wouldn't want to kill animals but save them.
But he couldn't do it. He's tried many times but couldn't resist a good burger.
Annabeth walked over in her professional attire and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Smells delicious." She smiled. "Do you have to get ready for work?"
"Yeah, but I think having breakfast with my girlfriend is more important. And she has a big meeting in a half hour." Percy smiled.
"With lawyers to stop your dad." She looked down at her food.
He let out a breath. They had a silent agreement not to talk about when her mom was going to fight against his dad. But sometimes, Annabeth's big meetings were to stop him.
"Stopping him from protesting?" Percy whispered.
"Yeah. It's our biggest client and he wants to build right outside of the city a big factory." She told him.
"You need to stop it. The waste is going to end up in the Hudson like everything else or on the streets." Percy told her. "It's going to make the environment worse."
"If I drop this, my mom won't trust me. And her second in charge will make your dad's life more of a living hell than it already is."
Percy took a deep breath. "Compromise. Any way that you can."
Annabeth stared at him for a moment before something clicked in her head. "You're the environmental lawyer for this, aren't you?"
Percy nodded. "I'm telling you right now, my dad is going to fight this until you give something that will prevent the situation from getting worse."
"So he hired his son to do it for him."
"Annabeth-"
"Were you ever going to tell me that you were the lawyer?" She asked.
"I was but I was trying to find someone else to take the case. My father refused to have anyone except me do it."
"So you're going to fight your girlfriend on this?"
"It wasn't my ideal situation." He told her. "I was going to tell you after your meeting today-"
"Once you found out the information that you needed. Is that why you're dating me? To find the dirt on my company so you can tear it down?"
"No! I'm not doing that!"
"Then why are you on this case? Tell your dad you can't do it. End of story."
"If I don't do this case, I won't get paid and my dad will see me as a traitor." He stressed. "Your mom would see you as one too if you were in my shoes."
Annabeth went to the door and grabbed her briefcase. "I can't deal with this right now. I think we need a break."
Percy froze as he heard her say those words. "W-What?"
"This case is going to tear us apart. I think we need to put this on pause before we both get hurt. Bye Percy." She left.
