Chapter 3.1; A Dog's survivor's tale

Hey guys well for all of you that have been reading this story here is Chapter 3. Now I've kinda worked out how many chapters total there will be for this mini-series and I'll tell you it ain't a lot. I've worked out 8 chapters *yeah shortest book I've EVER WRITTEN!!!!* I mean I'll try and see if I can bump it up to a chapter or two more but if not then 8 is all you guys will get, I'm sorry. Anyways listen to the following song I have listed up here and also for any of you who caught the hints of a romance happening from Gypsy wolf between a certain red haired She-elf and Sea-bass's character, you're gonna flip out for this part right here *tee-hee :)* Okay so I'll be quiet now and allow you guys to read the 3rd chapter of "The Enhanced"

Early the next morning, Jackie awoke with her head lying on Ford's stomach and Ford still softly snoring in his sleep. Jackie slowly crawled up to Ford's face and licked him softly. Ford stirred in his sleep and when he opened one eye to see Jackie or in his case Blue standing over him he smiled and fully woke up and raised himself up and said.

"Good morning Blue, how're your stitches girl? Come on let me take a look". Jackie rolled over to her side and Ford checked her stitches and saw they were starting to mend well and that they didn't manage to pop. "Well good news is they made it through the night, but you're gonna have to take it easy for a while girl, at least until we can get you some professional help, okay girl?" Jackie just looked at Ford.

Ford then fully got up and stretched himself out and cautiously peeked out of the cave to see that it was just cloudy with barely any sun coming out from behind the clouds.

"Okay, I'm gonna have to find the others, see if anyone from our squad is hiding somewhere after that ambush, not to mention find Daisy and Buck as well as the other dogs, you just stay here Blue I'll be back in a couple hours". Jackie got this sickening feeling in her stomach that something bad was going to happen if either of them left the cave. Jackie slowly got up and stood in front of Ford defensively. "Blue, move out of the way. Blue I mean it!" Ford stated using his Alpha voice but Jackie wouldn't budge.

Jackie just stood her ground and stared up at Ford with strong and protective eyes. She had lost so many people in her life and seen so much death all because of her injuries forcing her to just sit there and watch as she lost all the people that she loved. She refused go through that pain again, not while she had a say in it this time.

Ford sighed deeply and knelt down in front of Jackie and said as he stroked her head gingerly.

"You blame yourself for what happened last night, don't you?" Jackie's ears bent backward sadly as she let out a whimper. "Well it wasn't, we should've expected Strucker had a surprise waiting for us should we even got close enough. I promise Blue I'll come right back for you, but I can't risk your safety and health than it already is now. I'll be gone 2 hours 3 maximum. If I don't find anyone within that time frame I'll come right back here and we'll find a way to get back to base since those giant birds destroyed all our modes of transportation". Ford kissed Jackie at the center of her forehead and ran off exclaimed, "2 hours Blue, I promise!" And then he disappeared into the woods for the last time.

Four hours later and Jackie was getting anxious, Ford still hadn't returned yet and she grew worried for his safety. Finally Jackie decided enough was enough it was time to get off her ass and find Ford herself and anyone else that still maybe out there somewhere. She stood up and slowly trotted out of the cave and began to track Ford's sent.

As she was on the trail, she suddenly heard a twig snap and she quickly raised her head up and her ears perked up and twitched trying to pick up any slight movements. She then lowered herself defensively and snarled out.
