A/N: I'm still trying with these lyrics
Laurens POV
Once we were parked on the sandstone driveway, we stepped out of the cabin, with me getting out last. I looked up at and gasped. The magnificent house blocked out most of the darkening sky. The smooth white walls contrasted with the auburn shallow roof. Four tall pillars, framing the slightly raised entryway, rose up to meet it. With three garages to the left and a door resembling something from the beverly hills, it was indeed the grandest thing I had seen in my life.
Turning to me, smiling, Lafayette remarked, "Ah, mon ami Laurens is in awe."
Everyone laughed and I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks, sheepishly smiling. "It's so big. What could you do with this much...house?"
Washingdad ushered us all onto the front steps with a sweep of his hand. As soon as he turned the key in the golden-looking lock and opened the pale door, everyone crashed through, rushing inside. Before I followed them in, I noticed Washington shake his head slightly, a wry grin on his face.
"C'mon Laurens," I heard Mulligan call as they ran up the carpeted spiral staircase. As I did, I used a steady pace, taking a moment to comprehend in the interior I could see. A leather couch and giant, wall-mounted TV where the dominant features of the main room and I could see the kitchen was laden with marble and stone. Before I got a chance to see anymore of the downstairs area, I felt a hand grasp mine and pull me up to the second floor. I glanced up and saw Alex, a wide smile on his face. He guided me the rest of the way upstairs and spun around to face me.
"Let me show you around Laurens. We can start upstairs. Well duh we are already up here," he shook his head at himself. I giggled.
Knowing I was blushing, I averted my gaze and gingerly replied, "That would be nice. Thank you."
He waved off my formality, "No need to thank me, and just relax here. It'll be like a second home to you." I sighed and gave a small grin. He returned my gesture and lead me to the three sofas in the upstairs living room we had emerged in. Everyone was splayed along them, watching a show on tv that I didn't recognise, eating some snacks that were laid out on the glass topped table. Lafayette and Mulligan laid on opposite sides of the large couch, the sisters were bunched together on the floor, leaning on the front of their couch, and Maddison laid with Jefferson on one of the smaller couches.
After swallowing the pretzels he was eating, Mulligan called over the top of the sound of the tv, "You taking him on the grand tour huh? Don't take him down to the slave quarters though, I regretted seeing it." He beamed innocently, making the others giggle.
Hamilton must've seen my worried expression as he quickly reassured me, "He's joking, don't worry." He chuckled awkwardly before pushing me out into the hall. I glanced back just in time to see Hamilton put his finger up at the older boy, who responded with an over exaggerated, offended gasp. I laughed silently as I was lead towards the bedrooms.
"This is my bedroom. Everyone usually sleeps in here," he pointed towards the biggest room. "Except for Jefferson and Madison." I looked inside. Various posters covered the walls, some of which I couldn't recognise. There was a small, love-seat couch in a corner by a window, opposite to a TV rigged with a few different consoles. There were a few blankets and pillows stacked at the end of the plain, king-single sized bed that was in the corner to the left of the couch. Also next to the love-seat was a desk littered with papers and a computer.
"Why don't you just write everything on the computer instead of copying it out?" I asked him, motioning to the desk. He smiled nervously.
"Ahh well, I like writing things down on paper first. I don't loose it as easily. And I feel more comfortable when writing with a pen for some reason," He shrugged his shoulders. After looking around the room one last time, Alexander pulled on my hand. We stepped out into the hall again.
