She Can't Be

Chapter Eighteen

Me and Natsu left the Masters office in silence and both headed outside the guild to the back to think. You'd think that after finding out that you were the all powerful ruler of the dragon slayers and queen to an entire species a girl would be ecstatic but instead...I'm just... scared.

I don't know what to do or think and all I can do is stare into the distance and hope this was all a dream.

After moments of complete silence Natsu breaks it. "I'm a king. I mean I always knew I was a king but I'm the king. This is unbelievable." He says standing up and jumping up and down.  "(YN) c'mon are you serious? We're royalty! And not just any royalty but DRAGON ROYALTY! Do you know what this means?!?" He says in excitement.

I look up at him and smile at his banter."What Natsu?" I reply in humor.

"It means we get to see our dragons again!! Just think about it now that we know they can come back and help us." He exclaims in excitement and all of a sudden my mood boosts.

"Wait you get to see Igneel. And Aqua can help me with everything." I think out loud. I begin smiling erratically and jump into Natsu's arms with joy. I'm so happy for the both of us that we get to see them again and the thought of being a princess washes away.

*Time Skip *

The rest of the day is just me and Natsu enjoying the thought of seeing our dragons. More so of course for Natsu considering Igneel has been missing for at least a decade now.

We tell the entire guild the great news and continue my first mission party the rest of the day and night. Soon it turned into a "Congrats your royalty party". Mira says history was made tonight as the prince and princess of the dragons celebrate their announcing reign. But it is not all fun and games.

Half way through the party Mastor kills the mood with a dire announment. He stands on top of the bar without a smile in site.

"Listen up all of you" He starts and the guild go's silent. "I know that this is a great time to celebrate our new royals but we have a lot bigger things on our plate now that the news is out. We have an enemy. An enemy that will not stop until either (YN) or Natsu is dead. Or both. This enemy is strong, extremely powerful. Probably more so than anything we have ever fought before. And in order to defeat them it will take all of us. Every last one of us. Especially (YN) and Natsu."

"This enemy comes in all forms. So we cannot be totally sure where they will go or when they will come or who they will be. But they will come. And when they do we must be ready. Which is why by tomorrow night I want all guild members out of Magnolia" He states and the entire guild gasps and goes into a quite chatter. "For when this enemy comes we do not want to be in the city and put these people at risk." He finishes.

"So where will we go Mastor?" Asks Mira and is joined by a "Yea" by the rest of the group.

"We will have to travel far. Not to any town or island but a sanctuary I have put together for this guild when the day was to come. It is about three days trip on foot so we will have to leave before sundown tommorow." The entire guild sighs in dispaire. I can't blame them, three days trip is how long it took me to get here when I first came and it is a long way.

"Now you know I hate putting my children at risk. But this is a common enemy we must fight together. We must protect each other at all costs. And most importantly work together, that is the only way this will work." The mastor steps down from the bar and goes to his office. In a hurry Natsu follows him leaving me alone at our table in worry.

Lucy walks over to me and puts a hand on mine. "Please do not worry (YN). This will all be over soon. And you heard what the mastor said, as long as we are together we will succeed." Lucy cheered me up a bit. But that didn't help the growing lump at the back of my throat.

All of a sudden the door flies open and the exceed I've been searching for for days has finally returned.

"Marie!?!" I exclaim embrassing her.

"I am so sorry child but I had a few errands to run as part of my departure from where I came. A few lose ends I had to tie. I am so sorry I had to leave you so suddenly." She says that beautiful smile on her face.

"Well it's alright, your here now." I say hugging her again.

Lily walks up to us soon after Marie has arrived and "pleasantly" greets her.

"Hello lady Marie. What the pleasure to have you back." He says laying a kiss to her paw.

'Now who does that remind me of?'

He continues to chat with Marie and I began to wonder what's taking Natsu so long in Master's office.

*Natsu's Point of View*

I ran up after mastor into his office and close the door anxiously.

"Mastor who is this punk your talking about. You know I can take him, I can?!?" I demand to know in worry of the guild.

"I am not exactly positive, but it is someone I have prepared my guild to fight for years without you even knowing it." He says. I am usually not scared of any fight,  or anyone. But this is my family at stake here. I must keep them safe at all cost.

"What is the name of our enemy mastor? I demand to know on behalf of (YN) and the rest of the guild!" This was the first time I had ever talked to the mastor this way before.

"Her name...is-"

"No.... She can't be."
