I made my way to school with my new backpack for a new year. The colourful textures gleamed in the summers sun. Cold air hitting my face as i stepped out of the front door. It was nice to step out into the light once in a while, especially if it wasn't gloomy.
It was the second day but it was very possible i could of arrived late, again. Ivy normally came to school much earlier than me to get a couple of milkshakes to hide in her bag.I glanced across the crumbling street to see a boy looking down at his feet as he walked. His hands shoved in his black jacket that fell just bellow his waist. Light brown hair was stuck up with a little shimmer on the ends. Perfect, like he had just been to a salon. That's all I saw that stood out. I didn't manage to see his eyes.
I carried on walking now looking down at my own feet and thought if I would get to be the president of the school . What to eat ... Pizza and Oreos. What to drink ... Ice tea. That's my dream. Ice tea at school. I looked up and found my head slammed against the metal lamppost. Great. Now I'll have a red mark on my fore head that's traveling to the bridge of my nose. It's not like others notice me anyway so I think they wouldn't mind.

I ran into class 5 minutes late but a pair of bright blue eyes laid upon mine. I stared a while without noticing. My eyes trailed and start to recognise who it is. The boy across the street. He smirked at me but didn't take his eyes off of me. I felt like I had to do something.
Should I smile?
Should I wave?
I was in utter shock.
I scurried to my seat. Olivia Gander slipped her foot out quickly infront of me. Before I could realise what had happened, I felt my hands release all that was in them. The whole room was turning and looking at me, bursting into laughter. I felt my eyes swell up and my cheeks going rosy red. I turned to look at the 'Boy Across The Street' but he wasn't looking at me anymore. His head was down staring at his paper laid before him but everyone's else's where not. Still pointing and laughing. I fell to the floor to collect my books like an old lady lost who had her marbles. I stumbled to the back of the class in the corner and threw my head in my hands while the room fell silent.Miss Riles joined the class and sat at her desk. She was a small woman with large glasses, and when I say large I mean coasters for your cups large. With my head still in my hands I felt like all eyes where on me. Burning through me. Knowing exactly what I was thinking. I looked up ,only a little, and I saw only one head facing my way. Him. 'The Boy Across The Street'. I stared a while my tears in my hands and smothered around my face. Olivia started to furiously shift her head to mine to 'The Boy Across The Streets'. She didn't like me, not one bit. Olivia was the popular one. The one I wanted to be. She had all her friends and every guy who looked at her fell in love. I was just not kind of material.
"So Miss, I don't understand shouldn't we all be looking at you and nobody else," she said with a smirk."Yes, that is correct. I know I am small but I am not that hard to miss," Miss Riles giggled while everyone looked at her blankly. Not them glasses your not, I thought to myself. Olivia's blonde straight hair swung back and hit the person behind her in the face, she did not looked pleased with me. So I said it out loud. My head fell in my hands again. Embarrassed out of my whole mind.

I found Ivy at lunch with her strawberry milkshake. I had no idea if she had an obsession or she just had to go to the doctors for a medical form, but it didn't matter right at that moment.
"So you've got another milkshake," I said with a sigh. She nodded as she sipped on. I groaned and looked around the cafeteria, hoping to see..."Right," She said finishing her milkshake ",Very important news here ,Leora. New episode of that anime. 'Hopeless Dreams!' OMG! Aren't you excited? I started thinking I should write a fan-fiction between Luna Moon and Niloe Star. I am so excited!" She said jumping up and down in her seat. Ivy is nice and pretty. She is more popular than me that's for sure. She always got invited to sleepovers or parties, but I never did. Their excuse was that I was too weird and quiet.
"That's great, I-uh ," I thought if I should ask before jumping to a conclusion ," did you know there was a new boy. Do you know his name?"
"New boy.. Uh I don't know. Why'd ask?" She said trying to shout over the volume in the room. Lunch was possibly the nosiest time at school. Students jumbled up into different groups. Very confusing for an average human mind, I guess. Me and Ivy, if we saw 2 spare seats then we dibs them and make sure it would not be stolen from us.
"I saw him walking the school and he stared at me in English," I replied not trying to sound like my voice was breaking.
"I don't know, maybe he likes you," she said giving me a wink. I laughed at the thought.

I started to walk home as I saw Him again. I wish I had the courage to has for his name so I wouldn't have to call him 'The Boy Across The Street'. He was with 2 guys both a little smaller. I watched him smirk at them. Then I noticed a tiny lip ring. The only reason I saw it was because of the light bouncing off of it. Must be small because of school. I felt my body staring too long so I swiftly carried on waking.
