|| Chapter 17 ||

We went round trick or treating and me and Isaac got quiet a lot, even though we weren't the ones who where actually trick or treating. But I have to say it was so fun! We went to number 27 to 28 to 29. We got to number 30 and me and Isaac stood on the pavement waiting for them, I blew heat on my hands and folded my arms with my bag of candy in one arm. We stepped onto the drive when they opened the door. The lady smiled when she opened the door and held a bowl of sweets. Her hair was tied into a bun and her glasses was stuck on her top pocket.
"Trick or Treat!" Shaun and Phoebe yelled at her in delight.

"Aww," the woman looked over us so we smiled ,"You two look pretty young to have children."

"Oh, no they are his little cousins," I laughed pointing at Isaac. I blushed and looked down. The lady passed Shaun and Phoebe the sweets and closed the door behind her.

I don't really know why, but I loved the feeling of being with Isaac and his cousins. It's just more family than I have ever had all at once. He is so lucky. I never saw my cousins, I had a lot but never saw them often.

We carried on to the next then the next, sometime me and Isaac walked to the door and shouted 'trick or treat' with Phoebe and Shaun. I was happy I was with them, I felt like I had family as well.

I learned to like them both, Shaun was weird but all boys are in a way. No one is perfect, certainly not me anyway.
"You enjoying it?" I asked Phoebe and Shaun, smiling down at them.

"Yes! This is the best Halloween yet! Thank you Leora!" They shouted, I looked at Isaac and smiled. He smiled back and looked into my eyes. I quickly looked away trying not to stare.

We walked on and it got colder and colder for some strange reason.
"You okay?" He asked watching the kids play in front.

"Yeah just cold," I shivered. He put his hand around my waisted and pulled me to his side. We walked like that all the way to the park. We sat on the park bench whilst the children ran around pinching each other's sweets.

"You having a nice time?" He asked half hugging me. I felt warm and safe with him, like this.

"Yeah," I looked around and spotted her. Olivia. Her glaring around and her eyes layer upon me, she was in a cat costume wobbling around, probably a bit drunk knowing her. I looked away and glanced at Isaac.

"Ahhhh!!" I stood up and looked for Shaun and Phoebe. I ran around the park searching for the one in pain. I spotted Shaun laying on the floor in agony. Phoebe weeping next to him, the blood trickled down his knee. I glances around and saw Olivia hiding.

"She," Phoebe started ,"she did it!" She yelled pointing at Olivia.
How dare she! Push a poor innocent child over.
Isaac grunted and clenched his fists. No. I wrapped my hand around his balled fist. He released and wrapped his fingers around mine, squeezed and ran to Shaun.

"It's going to be okay, Shaun. Be brave," Isaac reassured him.

"Olivia!" I yelled at her. "How dare you! Push over a small innocent boy! Why?!"

"If I see you and Isaac again together I wi-"

"Listen, if you do anything to harm anyone again I swear to god your dead meat!" I yelled stepping closer. I burned up and felt tears coming on, no, no stop. Stay strong...
