Chapter 16: Nerves

I woke up and got ready to go the the hospital I hoped I had Janet as a patient again because I couldn't wait to tell her what I found. I got in my car and started it heading for the hospital.

I turned on my radio and started jamming to habits by tove lo. I loved this song it was really great. I made it to the hospital shortly but of course it took forever to find a parking spot.

I drive around a few times before finding one near the back. I got out and didn't complain much just started on the walk to the entrance. I past a lot of people on the way in when o made it I greeted the lady at the desk and asked her for my list of names.

She smiled and handed them to me, I saw both Janet's and Logan's names and smiled. I made my way to the elevator to go to the second floor. It dinged and 2 people holding hands walked out but I was in such a rush I didn't see them and ran into them.

"Oh gosh I'm sorry." I apologized.

"Oh that's alright." A man around his 20s answers, he had blue eyes, and blonde hair.

"Are you volunteering here?" The women that looked around the same age asked, she had longer dirty blonde hair with brown eyes.

"Yes, how did you know." I replied.

"Well Jake and I come to see his brother Logan whose in a coma often, and we've never seen you before. And I notices you had a clipboard." She replied.

I stood there awkwardly for a second not knowing what to say, I knew they were talking about my Logan I just didn't know what to say.

"Oh yeah.. I um I know him.. I uhh feed him." I awkwardly said.

"Are you alright?" Jake asked.

"Yeah you look a little pail." The women asked.

"No I'm fine I must be going though." I said, telling them goodbye then heading on the elivator.

I clicked the second floor and made my way up and to Janet's room. I entered and she smiled at me.

"Hello dear I thought you'd never come back I asked about you." She said.

"Yes I'm back I like it here. And I've got news." I said, grabbing her food to help her.

"Well let's here it." She asked.

"Well yesterday when I left I went to another patients room who was in a coma just like Logan except it was Logan. And I freaked out. And just now I ran into his brother Jake, and I'm assuming he was with his girlfriend. I don't know what to do now that he's real." I said all at once.

Janet laughed a little as if she knew this would happen.

"I had a feeling you didn't just dream him up. What was he like?" She asked.

"Well I don't know yet like I said he was in a coma. I'm just scared of what's going to happen when we wakes up." I said.

"Well don't be frightened he'll wake up soon and then maybe you guys will end up together who knows." She said laughing.

After talking to Janet a while and feeding her I went to all the other patients rooms before getting to Logan's.

He was still sleeping I looked at him for a minute before reaching down and touching his hand. "I'm sorry Logan I'm so sorry." I said holding back my tears.

His hand very slightly moved and I moved back in shock. He was still sleeping but it was very nerve wrecking.

I got everything set up to feed him then went on about my day. I walked down stairs and handed the women my clip board ready to go home.

I walked out and looked for my car once I found it I got in and turned the radio on about to go home. Starboy by the weeknd came on and I turned it up all the way.

After jamming for a bit I turned the radio down just as I made it home. I got out and went inside straight to my room I didn't feel like eating I felt like I ruined my only chance at happiness how could I have been so stupid.

Now my chances were over and I would just have to accept that. Until he wakes up that is.

So I finally found time to update and that would be my only day off of work and school. Well that's because they cancelled until Monday because of obvious reasons.

I like in south Carolina and hurricane Mathew is pretty mean looking.

But sorry I haven't updated in forever vote and comment and I might just be able to find time to write more 😉😉
