Chapter 17: Finally

I had been volunteering for a few weeks now and Logan still hadn't woken up yet I was excited to see him for the first time in real life to see if he remembered me. What if he was angry well I guess not he still visited me and I still ignored him out of fear.

Except I'm not sure if he knew I was scared or just angry at me, all I knew was that he hadn't tried to talk to me at all just scare me. I really wanted to talk to him but I was scared of what he'd say or if I would let it slip that I still volunteer so I can see him without him knowing.

I made my way into the hospital to get my clipboard sometimes the names changed when people were moved, passed away, or were discharged. but Logan's name was always there and so was Janet's but she was supposed to be discharged tomorrow to go to the nursing home.

I took the clip board and headed to my first room I said hello to the younger woman lying in bed with machines hooked up all over her. She looked tired and sad. "Are you alright?" I asked because of her being a new patient on my list.

"Yeah thank you, just upset that I have to be stuck in this hospital." She replied looking away from me.

"Well why are you here? If you don't mind me asking." I questioned.

"No it's fine, I got into a car accident yesterday and they say I have to stay here for a while, because I broke a whole bunch of bones or something. And I really miss my family." She replied obviously distraught.

I looked around the room thinking of something to say. "So how many kids do you have?" I politely asked.

"I have 3, 2 girls and 1 boy." She smiled thinking of them.

"Awe that's cute how old are they?"

"The boy is 12, and the 2 girls are 4 and 6."

"That's so cute, who are they staying with or are you married?"

"Yes i'm married we have a house together so they're at home with their dad." She replied.

I was there to bring her food and see if she needed help so I got the tray set for her and brought her, her food. "Did you need any help with that?" I asked.

"No, i'm alright but thank you." She replied.

I told her I would be back to get her plate when she was done and I headed to my next room.

After seeing all my patients except my favorite 2 I headed to Janet's room she smiled when she saw me. "Hey it's nice to see you again." She said.

"Yeah it's nice to see you too." I smiled, knowing she was only kidding because I come in here so often.

I got her food for her and I didn't have to help her anymore she was getting a lot stronger, and as much as I hate to say it she was ready to go to the nursing home.

"So you're leaving tomorrow?" I asked upset.

"Yes I suppose I am." She replied.

"Well maybe I can come see you when i'm not busy what nursing home are you going to?" I asked.

"I'm going to Lake Park's just a few miles from here." She said, looking glad I had offered to come see her.

"Well I know where that is I'll try and come see you as much as I can, I've heard it's really nice I know you'll like it." I said with a smile, trying to reassure her.

After I had finished helping Janet and went back to the room to help the woman that got into a car crash, I headed to Logan's room. once I got there I walked into the room and looked up to see Logan like I always do. Only this time it was different, much different, no completely different. This time when I looked at Logan not only was I looking at him...

Sorry guys I know I haven't updated in forever but this was a pretty gosh darn good chapter am I right?? lol

But also sorry for that cliffhanger if I was reading a book and it had a cliffhanger like this with an author that barely updated I would be so angry lol.
