All I could think about was him I thought of different ways to get out of the house to get my mind off of it. I decided to go out looking for a job. I grabbed my car keys and headed for the door.
I shut it behind me and started my car pulling out of the driveway. I made it out of my neighborhood and started into town. I started thinking of different places there are to get a job.
All I could think of was fast food, so I just went for it. I stopped at McDonald's and went in. "Hello." The cashier greeted me.
"Hey do you have job applications?" I asked.
"Yes we do." She said, handing one to me.
I thanked her before heading out to my car I got in and got out a pen filling everything out.
I put my name, address, social, number, available hours, and I put my favorite high school teacher and my mom as my references.
I put my signature at the bottom but didn't go back to turn it in because I wanted to keep looking first. I drove out of the parking lot and kept going.
I stopped at Taco Bell I went in got an application and repeated the process. As I was driving down the road I saw the hospital and decided to stop and volunteer.
I would be getting out of the house more often and helping people. After about 10 minutes I found a parking spot and went in. "Hello I was wondering what I would need to do to volunteer?" I asked.
"Oh yes you just need to fill this out and we'll put you on the schedule for whenever you're free." She replied, handing me a clip board with a paper on it.
I took it and thanked her I went over to sit down on the chairs and started looking at all the questions. It asked for my name, number, availability and a few other things. I filled everything out and went to hand the paper to the woman at the front desk.
"Thank you if you'll stay here I can tell you what time we'll need you." She said smiling.
She started typing on her computer and I sat down in the chair again. I pulled out my phone and started texting scarlet.
To scarlet
'I'm volunteering at the hospital.'
To Sara
'Wow really that's cool, but why?'
To scarlet
'Because I want to get out of my house and get my mind off of Logan. And plus I get to help people, I'm not sure what they're going to have me do though. Ill have to ask.'
To Sara
'Well those are pretty good reasons and alright. I'm glad.'
To scarlet
'Me too'
I put my phone away just as the lady called my name.
"Alright so can you come in tomorrow?" She asked.
"Yes I'm always free." I smiled.
"Alright well I'll see you then." She said.
"OK but where do I go, and what will I be doing?" I asked confused.
"You just come in and see me, I'll tell you where to go and the nurses will help you out and show you what to do on the first few days. You know until you get the hang of it." She said smiling.
"Alright well have a good day." I said smiling.
I walked out and headed for my car. I was excited but also dreading going home.
It was a quick drive because of how much I didn't want to go home. I parked, and turned my car off heading inside. I threw my application on the counter just incase I ever needed them and looked up to see Logan in the mirror.
I screamed not used to seeing him anymore and turned around to see that he was no longer there. I tried to hold it in but I couldn't I started bawling and ran all the way to my room closing the door and stuffing my face in the pillow.
"I'm sorry Logan I believe you just please come back." I begged, knowing he could hear me, but also knowing he wouldn't listen.
