It's been three months since me and Tiffany saw or heard from La'Tisha, but I was still paranoid like everything had happened yesterday. Me and Tiffany been coming up with a lot of leads to getting to the master mind who "forced" Terrence to pull the trigger on my father and we had taken a lot of lives. Everybody on the streets knew we was nothing to be played with, but I knew we had made a lot of enemies. We had, however, made sure we had the right people on our team or we just made them think we were on their team. We played them against each other and watched them kill each other like it was nothing. I think the only people I had a heart for were Tiffany and Joshua. He was doing good, though, and still staying out of trouble. He never got any behavior reports and the school never bothered us. I was happy he was keeping his promise and I faithfully worked to keep mine.
Everything was a little difficult because we had to change the way we did everything, all because I was paranoid about La'Tisha. La'Tisha handled everything on the business side before, but now me and Tiff were picking up the slack. I ain't gone lie, it didn't feel right when La'Tisha left, but at the same time I ain't care too much about the girl nomore. I knew Tiffany missed her, though, and I knew it would hurt her in the long run.
Me and Tiffany finally got into this party that Michael Fimmer was supposed to be attending. When we got there, I knew he was there because there was too much heat in the building. His face was never seen, but I knew he was there. Only thing is, as soon as me and Tiff was working our way into getting closer to him, we see La'Tisha.
At first I ain't recognize her because she was big pregnant. It softened her features a little and she looked beautiful. She looked right at us and walked out the door. I will never know what made Tiffany follow her out that door, but she did. My first instinct is to have her back so I'm right behind her. As soon as Tiffany walked out the door, La'Tisha fired two shots that hit Tiffany right in the chest. I fired one shot that hit La'Tisha in the shoulder; she was gone before I was able to fire another shot, though. I rushed Tiffany to Ochsner Hospital and she was immediately rushed to surgery. When the doctor came out from surgery, he said she was in critical condition and had went into a coma.
When he delivers me the news, I feel like dying. I started thinking about all the times she had my back, all the times we fought next to each other, and all the times she saved my life. I couldn't help, but think that the reason my best friend was lying in a hospital bed fighting for her life was because of me. I loved that girl with everything in me and I knew sitting next to her hospital bed, La'Tisha had to die.
La'Tisha dying, though, would never make up for the fact that the whole situation was all my fault...
