Chapter 6: Technology X is X amazing!

    "Yuu! Let's go look for the others!" Lavi exclaimed!
    "First of all, DON'T CALL ME BY THAT NAME! Second of all, what do you think I've been doing?" Replied Kanda. Even though Kanda hasn't exactly been looking for them. He got a little sidetracked when he was dazzled by the shiny new city!
    "Really because I saw you walking out of a restaurant with..." Lavi turned to Leorio. "Who are you?" He asked.
    "Leorio!" The doctor answered. "And why do you keep calling him Yuu?" Asked Leorio, looking between the two exorcists.
    "Because he's an idiot!" Kanda answered before Lavi could say anything. "Anyway, I was having this monkey suit show me around because I needed to become more familiar with this strange city in order to know my way around. You know, so could actually have any chance of finding you and the others" Kanda made an excuse for his current tour.
    "Again with the nickname!" Leorio complained, but was quickly cut off.
    "Yeah right Yuu!" Lavi smirked at the blue haired exorcist. "You where probably just amazed by this city's technology, weren't you? I can just imagine your eyes all wide, and sparkling in wonder, looking at the big shiny buildings! Awwww~❤️!" Lavi teased. This earned him a death glare from the blue haired man.
    "Tch" was Kanda's only response.
    "I'm right aren't I?" Lavi continued to pester the swordsman.
    "Hey uuh..." Leorio finally spoke. Gaining the attention of the two exorcists. "What do you guys mean the technology is weird?" Leorio asked. "Even people who live in less advanced parts of the world, at least know about the more expensive stuff! So what gives?" He finished.
    Kanda and Lavi stared at the doctor with blank faces.
    "I have never seen vehicles as fast, buildings as tall, or billboards as shiny as these" Kanda stated, gesturing towards the city scene behind him.
"Yeah! And earlier I saw these things inside this store! They were apparently phones! Very small, rectangular phones that fit in your pocket!" Lavi exclaimed, making hand gestures to try and explain the shape and size of the phones.
"Ok rabbit, don't be ridiculous now" Kanda snarled at Lavi. "That's impossible. Phones can only be run by a line. Anything else would be a communication golem" Kanda stated, confident in his words.
"No I'm pretty sure he's talking about cell phones" Leorio said bluntly as he pulled out his own phone. "See, look" he said as he pressed the button on the bottom of it, then proceeded to tap the screen a few times. He then showed them the so called 'phone' which had a screen that took up the whole device.
Lavi inspected the cellular device cautiously. "How could this be a phone? How can you even call people?" the Bookman asked, one eyebrow raised. Kanda was keeping his distance.
"Like this..." Leorio answered as he tapped the screen a few times and the image on it had changed. The screen now had what appeared to be a phone number on it, with a little symbol resembling a proper telephone beside the number. There was also a name and a picture at the top of the screen. The name was Kurapika, and the picture was of a blonde haired, girly looking boy.
Lavi peered at the screen, still looking rather confused. "Ok so how do you call them?" He asked.
"You just tap on the phone symbol. Then you wait for them to answer" answered Leorio. He then tapped the screen, and the phone screen went away. "But there's no point calling them unless it's really important. If you just want to talk to them, then you mind as well just text them" Leorio stated. He looked at the redhead and asked, "you mean you really haven't seen a cell phone before?"
"N-no!" Lavi answered, dumbfounded. "The closest thing I've seen is a communication golem!" The eyepatched exorcist exclaimed. "Hey Yuu!? Have you seen anything like this?!" He shouted at the swordsman.
"No I can't say I have" Kanda answered with an equally confused expression.
Leorio was more than a little shocked by the fact that these two have never seen a piece of technology that was known world wide. "Say... Where are you guys even from?" The doctor asked.
"Well in our line of work we have to travel all over the world" Kanda spoke. "But I've never heard of this city before, or anything about these phones" Kanda looked around and realized something. "I've also never seen so many cars in one place! Normally only the very wealthy can afford a vehicle! Is everyone here rich or something?" Questioned Kanda.
Leorio ignored Kanda's question, and just continued to ask his own. "Wait ok hold on! Then where would the main area your work be located in?" Leorio narrowed his eyes, he was becoming more and more confused.
"Mainly in London I guess" this time Lavi had answered. Leorio is even more confused.
"London?" Leorio questioned. "Where on Earth is that?" Leorio asked, and was quickly greeted with two very shocked faces.
"What do you mean, 'where's London'?" Kanda scoffed. But deep inside, Kanda was beginning to get a very bad feeling.
"Well I'm SORRY if I don't know every city in the world! OK!" Leorio started to rant.
While Leorio continued yelling, Lavi turned to Kanda, and Kanda turned to Lavi as well. Their eyes locked. Each could tell that the other was very, very frightened!
"K-Kanda?" Lavi's voice shook out of fear. He was especially serious because he wasn't even calling the swordsman Yuu.
"Yeah Lavi?" The other answered, also rather disturbed.
"Do you think... That maybe..." Lavi kept trailing off. "Maybe the Innocence in that hole... Sent us somewhere else entirely?" The redhead finished.
Kanda looked at the ground, he gritted his teeth. "I... God damnit!" he cursed. He took a deep breath and lifted his head. Kanda then straightened his back, and looked Lavi dead in the eye. "We need to find the others. Pronto!"

I feel like this chapter was just filler. More stuff will happen next chapter I promise.
