"No."

"No what?" I looked down from my perch at my mom.

"No, you can't not go to the party."

"But- But they will have alcohol and drugs and... Bad decisions?"

"You have to go to that party. You have to go there and have a 'good time'." She puts little finger quotes around the words; To prove a point I guess.

"Well? Time to go. You'll be late. Go. Now." I hopped down and grabbed my jean jacket.

"No. Leather." My Mother gave me a glare so fierce that it reminded me of gramma. She was a horrible woman. I put the jean jacket on my bed and grabbed my black leather jacket. I really didn't want to go that party. As soon as I was out the door, my phone rang.

"Sky?"

"Ya. It's me. Again. You okay?"

"Ya.. My mom's making me go to another party."

"Oh. Poor you. A life of parties and a family who loves you."

"Harsh play Miller, harsh play."

"Don't call me Miller." I could tell she was smiling. She hated her last name.

"Talk to Blaize yet?"

"No. He won't ever- He- You- His mother. You told the boy that he is most fearfull of, about his worst feelings. You- He..."

"I know. I know. And I can't believe I did it and I can't believe that I trusted that guy, and I can't believe I was too scared to do anything about it."

"Sorry. I can't. He's been such a good friend. He always has." That just made me feel worse.

"I'm sorry. Bye."

"Bye."

I hung up and went to the stupid party.
