layla's POV
Well today's the day. Alison's funeral. Jason and I walked up the steps to the church hand in hand. He had picked me up from my house 10 minutes ago. Once I spotted his parents, I let go of our grasp and went to greet Mr.D first.
"Hello layla. Good to see you again," he said with a small smile.
"Likewise Mr.D," I returned his smile.
"You look lovely today," he said, complimenting my black lace dress.
"Thank you. That's a very nice tux," I stated.
"Why thank you," he said nonchalantly.
"Your welcome and I better get to saying hello to Mrs.D" he just nodded then greeted other guests. I walked up to Mrs.D and once she saw me, she instantly smiled.
"Hello darling!"
"Hi Mrs.D!"
"Oh please call me Jessica. And might I say you look lovely."
"Thank you," I said, smiling.
"I've asked the girls to sit up front. It's what Ali would've wanted."
"Of course," I said then walked away, Jason trailing behind. We went to the front where I sat near the end, in the middle of Jason and Aria.
After a few minutes he looked back and said,"I better go stop her from inviting the whole town in." I slightly nodded before hearing Aria'a phone beep.
"Any one we know?" Spencer asked whilst looking at Aria.
"It's just my mom," she paused,"layla, Em, and I aren't the only ones that are getting texts from A, are we?"
And with that we looked at each other in silence.
"Can you believe what a scene this is?" Spencer asked in her Hastings manor.
"Ali would've loved it," Hanna stated with a little sorrow and jealousy in her voice.
"All of this attention," I paused,"God I miss her."
"Yeah. She was popular in life-" Emily was interrupted.
"And death," Aria stated.
There was a silence after the DiLaurentis' came back. But now I heard the oh so familiar tapping sound that all of us dreaded. Spencer and I turned around to find the one and only Jenna Marshall being escorted by some random guy to her seat. She was back from the 'visually impaired' or in other words 'blind' school. The rest of the girls soon turned around, shocked at who they saw.
Once Mrs.D saw Jenna, she immediately turned to me and said,"I didn't know Ali and Jenna were friends."
"They weren't," I blantly stated. She looking at me with a confused face but then shook it off.
"The lord giveth and the lord taketh away," the priest started.

Afterwards, I walked with Jason outside where I heard Mrs.D respectively yell,"The limos for the burial will be here shortly!"
I walked away from Jason, who was talking to his dad, to the girls.
"Might I ask why you were with Jason just now?" Hanna said, crossing her arms across her chest.
"Well Jason and I kind of had a thing before Ali disappeared," I paused, looking at their faces. Hanna and Emily were shocked but Aria and Spencer had known this for a while.
"But that doesn't say why your with him now," Emily said nicely.
"A couple days ago in Philly, he asked me to be his girlfriend again and I said yes. Please don't be mad at me," I searched for any emotion in their faces. Hanna's read 'congrats girl', Emily's read 'why', and Aria and Spencer just smirked, having known the whole thing.
"We're not mad. Just disappointed that you didn't tell us sooner," Emily calmly said. I smiled a little and hugged them.
"I love you guys."
"We love you too," Emily said giggling. The limos had arrived so I got in one with the DiLaurentis' and the girls. I was once again in the middle of Jason and Aria. The whole ride was filled with awkward silence. Once we finally got there, I teared up a little. Jason put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. The next thing I pay attention to is the line that the girls and I are in to, one by one, throw a handful of dirt onto Alison's casket.

Once the ceremony was done, a man came up to us and said,"Emily, Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and layla?"
"Do we know you?" I said uncomfortably, crossing my arms.
"I'm Detective Wilden. I understand you were all good friends with the victim," he said, pulling his badge out and handing it to Spencer.
"Yeah, we were," Aria said, shifting her weight to one side.
"I'm gonna need to talk to each one of you," he said with a stern look.
"We talked to the police when Alison went missing," Spencer looked up from the card and said.
"And I intend to go over every one of your statements. Cause this is no longer a missing persons investigation. It's a murder," he paused,"Rest assured I will find out what happened that summer." And with that he walked away, but still looked at us.
"Do you think he knows about-" Aria got interrupted.
"No, how could he?" Hanna stated. Suddenly all our phones beeped.
"Oh my god," I said in disbelief.
"It's from-" Hanna started.
"I got one too," Emily nervously said
"I'm still here bitches," Spencer read.
"And I know everything. A," we all said in unison. I looked at the others before turning around and going back to Jason.
"Hey," he whispered.
"Hi."
"So do you want me to drop you off?" He asked. I just nodded and walked to his black Skoda. We got to my house and I thanked Jason before giving a him a kiss. I went inside and heard my mom and dad arguing. I sighed and walked upstairs. I grabbed my headphones from my desk and started listening to Adele while reading To Kill a Mockingbird.
After a while I took my headphone off and didn't hear anymore yelling. So I set my things on my bedside table and took a nap.
