Tuesday- four days until Homecoming.

-

"Carter, you have to stop zoning out in my class. Your grades are dropping. I hope you know that." My English teacher says to me. "Yes. I'm very sorry. It won't happen again." I fake a smile. I hate English class, so if he wants me to listen, he should do interesting things. "I hope not." I sling my backpack over my shoulder, and make my way out of class.

Usually, Ethan would be there, right outside the classroom, waiting for me. But he wasn't. I bet he thinks I hate him, but to be completely honest, I can never be angry at him for so long. Yes, what he said about my mom was a bitch move, and hit me in the heart, but what happened to my mom happened. It wasn't okay though.

It was now lunch. I walked through the corridor making my way to the cafeteria.

I see Lexi, sitting at a table with her friends, talking a laughing. She spots me walk into the cafeteria, and waves me to come over. She knows I'm not on good terms with Ethan. Because if I was, I wouldn't have agreed to spend so much time with her.

I walk over to the table, seating myself next to Lexi. She greets me, then goes right back to what her and her friends were talking about. I take this time to glance at the table I used to sit in. Also known as Ethan and his friends table. Oh, they seem to really enjoy Lacey's company. She's really getting along with them. All of them. It took me long for Kendall to enjoy me, cause I was a girl.

I couldn't help but feel... Jealous. Lacey didn't even have to try. She seemed like the nicest girl just looking at her, but she was kind of iffy to me. Maybe she thinks I'm a threat. The kind of threat that steals your boyfriend. I don't like Ethan that much to steal him away from his girlfriends. It's just a little crush. Ugh, I hate it.

I need to make friends with Lacey. I don't want her to hate me, because I don't want Ethan to hate me. I have next period with her. I'll talk with her then.

-

"Hey.. Lacey?" I tap her shoulder. She turns around in her seat. She was just talking to some girls, and now I feel kind of bad interrupting her conversation. "Yes?" She says in a slow annoyed tone. I sit down next to her. "Let's start over. I don't know why you seem to hate me, if you even do; but, I feel like we could be friends if we tried." I smiled. She seemed shocked. Like she didn't expect that from me from the moment I tapped her shoulder. "Uh, okay."

"Great. We should hang out sometime." She nods. "Oh! My friend, Lexi and I are having a sleepover at my place. You should join. I mean, it would be nice because it's always us two." She takes some time to think. "Mmm.. Well, I think I'm free. Sure thing. Tonight, correct?" She asks. "Yeah."

"Okay. Well, see ya there." I nod. "Oh, I almost forgot. What's your address?" I look around trying to find a paper and pen. I write down my address, handing it to her. "Thanks." I nod with a smile.

-

"You asked her? Why?" Lexi asks as we walk to my car. She decided to come straight to my house after school, because why not. "Because, she's my friend, and Ethan's girlfriend. I'm just being nice." I unlock the doors, and Lexi hops into the passenger seat, while I start up the engine. "So, when did you tell her to come over?" Lexi asks. "I wrote on the paper, to come at like, six or seven." She nods.

"I'm kind of exited." Lexi says as she puts her hands between her thighs. I pull into the driveway, and park my car. We get out of the car, and walk toward the front door.

To be completely honest with you, I'm not even that exited for her to come over. What if she brags about how much the guys like her? What if she talks about how much she 'loves' Ethan?

"Hey girls." Henry says. "Hey." Lexi and I say at the same time. "No Ethan today?" Henry asks. I hesitate to answer. But I just go with a simple answer. "Nope." Henry likes Ethan. He thinks he's a good man, and a responsible one too.

-

"I'll get it!" I yell, as I hear the doorbell ring twice. I run over to the door, almost slipping due to my very colorful fluffy socks. Lexi chuckles at my stupidity, as I open the front door. There stands Lacey with all her things for this awesome sleepover.

"Hey! Come on in." I move aside a bit letting her enter as she greets back. She sets her things aside, and we make our way to the living room, in which Lexi was waiting for us. "You have a very, very nice house by the way." Lacey stands there awkwardly. Almost like she doesn't know what to do. Aw, I want her to be comfortable.

"Thanks. Take a seat."

-

This sleepover was actually turning out great, and Lacey got super comfortable around us. Lexi was sprawled out on the bed, as I sat in my computer chair, and Lacey in my white bean bag seat. We were talking about the usual things girls talk about. Boys, drama, etcetera. But then, Lacey starts talking about Ethan. Great.

"Yeah, he's so sweet to me; and his friends too. His parents love me, and so does Grayson! His sister Carmon-"

"It's Cameron." I laugh a little to cover up being rude.

"Right. Cameron, I don't think she likes me very well. But good thing she's away at college am I right?" She laughs. Lexi and I laugh along, but only to make it seem like she was funny. I love Cameron. Lacey doesn't know what she's talking about.

"But Ethan!" She sighs a dramatic, dreamy sigh. "He's perfectly perfect. He treats me right, and I'm so glad and grateful to have him." I smile a weak smile. I've been friends with Lexi for a while, so I'm pretty sure she saw my upset mood.

To be completely honest with you, I'm not even that upset. He's happy, she's happy. I need to stop being so selfish. I mean, if I was in a relationship with Ethan, I'd want Lacey to back off too.

"Well, I'm happy for you."
