"Okay, you're done girlfriend!" Savannah blurts out, as I jump off of her high stool.
"Whew! Finally!" Sounding a bit exaggerated, I laughed as I made my way to where my dress and heels were.
Carefully slipping my dress on, and my heels followed afterwards, I slowly made my way to the long mirror, as Sav does her makeup.
Staring in the mirror, my refection shines back at me, and I'm in awe. If anyone saw me now, you wouldn't recognize me as the nerdy new little girl of Weston High, who lives in baggy sweats and sweaters. Someone who always has bruises, but is also covered in layers and layers of makeup.
"Wow," I muttered to myself as I look at my reflection. Sav listened to my requests, keeping my makeup light and neutral. She kept my eyes with earthy tones of browns, nudes, and beige colors that helped bring out my honey colored eyes, topped of with a winged liner and flirty lashes.
My cheeks were stained with a blush-pink, which matched my lipstick as well. Sav intricately pulled my hair into a boho-like updo that left pieces framing my face in a way that I loved and I genuinely felt beautiful.
My dress was held up by thin straps that showcased an open back and a v-shaped neckline which I loved. The dress overall was a soft white color with subtle glitters dusted all over the dress that gave it an ethereal glow. I paired the look with gorgeous nude heals and I loved everything about my look tonight.
For once, I don't feel insecure about body, my looks, my hair, and myself in general. Tonight is a night where I'll forget I'm a broken, sad girl.
I guess I stood infront of the mirror too long, because besides me, walks in a totally dolled up Savannah Miller.
Sav had gotten a two piece Red dress. The top is a white floral detailed crop top, as the bottom is a gorgeous blood red puffer skirt. Her eye look is a bit warm with a little smokey-ness added, and some gold to spice it up. Her lips are a blood red, along with her red pumps, matching her blood red theme.
"Look at you!" I complimented as I hugged her.
"Pfft! Have you seen you!?" Sav shoots back, and I blush to the shade of her dress.
"C'mon no time to waste, lets go downstairs!" Sav drags me as we make our way downstairs.
As soon as we made it downstairs, the door bell rings. As I retrieve the door, I am greeted with Neal in an all black suit, and a blood red bow tie, matching Sav's red theme.
Moving to the side, everyone walks in with their dates.
Ivan and his date are with the purple theme, as for Grayson, he is with Vienna's best friend, Carla. They're with the blush pink pink theme. Scanning the room for Kaleb, I frown as he is nowhere in sight.
"Hey guys, ummmm, where's Kaleb?" I frown as I asked any of the guys.
Neal is the first to answer as he is helping Sav put her necklace on.
"Oh he's meeting us there, since he had to pick something up." Neal turned his attention back to Sav. Nodding slightly, I sighed and started following everyone and their dates to the limo that's awaited outside.

Walking to the whole Homecoming party room, I scan the room again for Kaleb, but he's nowhere in sight.
"It's fine Clau, maybe he's picking something up for you? Have some fun whilst you're waiting!" Sav encourages me as she pushes me to the dance floor.
After a few songs, I get tired of dancing and make my way to the table to sit down. As I'm about to sit down, the music quiets down, and I can see people making way for someone. Standing on my tip toes, I try to look over the crowd as I'm only 5'5 with the heels on.
Moving up, I spot Kaleb walking, but what catches my eyes is Melody walking next to him, in a short teal dress, but Kaleb is in all black just like the other three, but with a white tie, matching our theme. Why? I thought, I feel my throat start to close up. Why would he claim taking me, but totally ditch me?
Feeling the urge to cry, I push through the crowd and into the ladies restroom. As I run into a stall and lock it, I breathe and count to 10. Don't cry Clau! Don't cry! Sav did not spend 2 freaking hours on your makeup, and $3000 on your whole outfit, just for you to mess up and cry over a damn jerk! Those words are played in my head as I pull myself together and sniff a few times.
Getting out of the stall, I promise to keep my head held high, and not embarrass myself. You got this Claudia Amber Jones! Those words replayed in my head as I walk back to where the party is.
Sitting down at the table where everyone is with their dates, Kaleb and Melody sits across from me. Looking over to Sav and Neal, Sav gives me a pitty worried look.
I know I can't show any emotions, so I smile and wink at her.
Getting up, I walk to the bar table the school managed to get.
"Hey wha-Claudia Jones!?" Josh, I think was his name is freaks out.
"Yeah it's me" I answered very confused.
"Wow, you look, um wow. Just wow." Josh stares at with dreamy eyes.
"What never seen a girl with makeup on before?" I smirk wiggling my eyebrows.
"No, I have, just not you" Josh laughs and I join him. "Anyways, what can I get ya?"
Josh works at the local Mario's Market- a grocery store near my house, and I spend most of the time counting my change at his register.
Josh is always so nice to allow me a few free grocery items for free, as he is Mario's son. I don't always have enough, but he seems to not mind, and for his kindness towards me, I'm forever grateful.
"Your strongest drink here, I honestly don't know if the school lets us have any alcohol based drinks here, but if you have any, pass it over." I muttered.
"Umm we only have wine coolers," Josh scratches his neck nervously.
"Uhhhhhhh really? Fineeeed, I'll take it." I muttered taking the whole thing and gulping it down.
Gonna be a longggggg night. I thought and got up.
"Thanks Josh, see you around?" I half smiled as he winks back and replies with a "You betcha!" Before getting back to servicing the other students.
As I'm walking, I'm pulled off to the side in a dark hallway away from the homecoming.
Looking up, I see Kaleb with a worried face expression.
"What?" I said coldly. I don't know where the sudden outburst of confidence came from, but I need it now.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come with you, just let me expl-"Kaleb starts but I cut him off, annoyed with his excuses.
"Oh, it's fine Kaleb, how could you come with someone like me?" I forced a laugh. "I'm...well...me......and you're Kaleb Peirce, who everyone worships! I'll only embarrass you more." I spat his name like venom and left Kaleb there.
I honestly don't care. He told me he'd take me, then left me embarrassing myself, thinking that he cared and that's why he took me, but nope. I thought wrong.
Making my way to the dance floor, 'Talking Body by Tove Lo' came on and I start swaying my hips to the beat, not giving a damn from all the looks I'm getting. Tonight, I'm letting myself free for the night, before I go back to the hopeless, scared, broken little girl I was.
