15:00pm
After mine and Brad's almost second kiss last night, I haven't spoken to him. I know I probably shouldn't of got up and left but I didn't know what else to do. Did I do the right thing dodging his kiss?
I don't want to get attached to a person that I'm probably never going to see again when I get home so what's the point. We would be better just being friends and enjoying our holiday.
As I was sat on my sun bed, I saw Brad sat in the bar so I thought now would be the time to break the awkwardness so we can be around each other again.
I grabbed my phone and threw on my laced baggy beach dress and headed towards the bar.
'There you are' I said walking behind Brad and making him jump slightly before running around.
'Oh hi' Brad says with a half hearted smile as I sat down next to him.
'I couldn't find you all morning, where have you been?' I asked
'I just wanted some alone time' Brad says looking up at me from the phone in his lap.
'Oh I can leave you to it if you want?' I said feeing a little awkward.
'No I want you here I just. I just don't know what's going on really' Brad said making proper eye contact with me for the first time since I'd approached him.
'What do you mean?' I asked confused.
'Well I mean one minute you're happy and talking to be, flirting even and then suddenly I get a cold shoulder and I just don't know where I stand with you really' Brad said, almost rambling on with himself.
What he's saying is true and I should of probably reacted differently last night.
'Brad I'm not giving you the cold shoulder I'm just, well I'm just trying to protect myself really' I sighed.
'What do you mean protect yourself? Brad asked with a confused expression.
'Well I mean, we've know each other a little over two days. And then we're only here for another week and a bit, I don't want to get attached to you and for it to just end up me getting hurt' I said as I played with my fingers.
'So you think we should just be friends?' Brad said looking down again.
Nope.
'Yeah' I sigh 'it's the only sensible option really, I mean you'll be home in two weeks, back to your crazy life and you won't even think twice about me or this holiday'
'That's not true' Brad replied.
An awkward silence came over us until Brad's phone lit up.
'It's my mum, she said she needs me. I'll see you later?' Brad said as he stood up.
'Yeah, we could go to the beach again tonight if you want?' I replied also standing up seen as I fancied a dip in the pool.
'Sounds like a date.. I mean a plan' Brad said pushing his hair back with his hand causing me to laugh.
'See you later Brad' I laughed as I walked off towards the pool again.
//Brad //
Why can nothing be simple for me? I mean I finally find a girl I actually really like. But of course there's the issue that we met in another country and don't actually live near each other back home.
I know that I've only known her two days but I just can't help the way I feel.
I mean the first time i saw her on the beach in her tiny bikini and see through dress I thought she was hot, but talking to her I realised she is way more than that.OI know that she doesn't want to get her feelings hurt in all of it but I wish I could change her mind about it all.
I decided now would be a good time to FaceTime James and get his opinion on the situation.
'Yoooooo' James answered the call.
'Hi hi' I replied.
'So what's wrong? What's this 'dilemma' you texted about' James asked as I sat down on the couch me and Jo sat on last night.
'I met a girl'
'Ohhh God This is serious, Brad you never get serious about girls ' James laughed
I stuck my middle finger up at him as he continued to laugh to himself.
'So what's she called, I wanna social media stalk her' James asked whipping his iPad out of his bag.
'Jo.. Jo Denver I think she said. I haven't even Social media stalked her yet we'll do it together' I laughed as James typed on his iPad.
'Is this her' James said holding a picture of Jo from Instagram on his iPad to the camera.
'Yeah that's her' I blushed slightly realising that now James knew about her.
'She's pretty, and she smart by the looks of it, Leeds university ooooo' James said laughing.
'So your dilemma is that she's too pretty and smart for you?' James said still laughing.
'No you dick, well yeah she is but that's not the problem. The problem is she lives in Leeds and for that reason she doesn't want to act like anything but a friend whilst we're here' I sighed.
'So what? You're gutted you're not getting a cheeky shag abroad?' James said raising his eyebrow.
'Noo!!! I mean I really like her, like really like her and there's nothing I can do about it because she doesn't want to get "attached" or her feelings hurt because she doesn't see it working when we leave here. I know I've only known her a few days but you just know when you get that feeling right? I mean you use to say it about Kirstie at the beginning of your relationship' I replied
'Well do you? See it working?' James asked. Why's the guy got to be so reasonable about everything all the time.
'I don't know, but I'm willing to give it a try. She isn't. I mean I kissed her yesterday. Then tried to kiss her again and she ran off. Then today she came over and sat with me like nothing had happened?'
'That's girls for you Brad, and these things called feelings, you need to get use to them. If a girl isn't throwing herself at you you normally give up. This girl must be damn special' James laughed to himself and what he was saying was true, I don't normally care enough to put up a fight.
'Brad what you honestly need to do is be her friend, if what ever you're feeling is meant to happen it will do, just give her time because remember it has only been 2/3 days'.
I sighed realising what James is saying is true. I just need to be patient about it.
'Thanks man, I'm going to go anyway I need to get ready' I said as I stood up.
'Okay see you later mate, good luck' James smiled and I ended the call.
Patient. That's all I need to be.
