Today I get to meet my grandparents and aunt's and uncle. I'm really excited but dad is freaking out. He's been up since 5 in the morning cleaning the whole house and making me help him. Apparently my Grandmother is a neat freak or something, I can't get him to say a full sentence. I've tried to stay out of his way and just cook the meal for him. It's really simple just baked chicken alfredo, salad and brownies.
After I finished cooking I went upstairs to change. I just put on my favorite pair of skinny jeans and a gray tank top with the captain america shield in the middle. I curled my hair and pulled it half up half down and put on light makeup. As I was doing the finishing touches to my look the doorbell ran.
"Maddie! Can you get that," dad yelled from his room.
"Yup," I yelled back and ran down the stairs to the door and opened it.
"Hi sweetie! You must be Madeline," a older woman said coming into the house.
"That's me," I said.
"Mom! Dad! So good to see you," Dad said jogging down the stairs and hugging his parent.
They door bell ran again and two woman and a man came in and hugged Chris. Once everyone was in the dining room with the food that I made on the table Dad and stood at the head of the table.
"So Maddie, this is my parents Lisa and Bob, and then there's my older sisters Shanna and Carly, and my little brother Scott," dad said pointing to everyone.
"It's nice to meet you all," I said.
The rest of the night was spent in conversation and getting to know everyone. As the night came to a close everyone said goodbye and see you later and left. Dad and I ended the day, as we often do, with a movie and ice cream until it was time for bed.
As I fell asleep I had a very bad dream: I was in a dark cold place and I couldn't move. When the lights came on I realized I was back in the orphanage, strapped down to my bed in the attic. Miss Hansly was there with a shock machine and I was hooked up to it. 'Should have thought about your actions. Now I'm going to ruin you like that stupid father of your's did to me.'
I woke up as she was about to turn on the machine and screamed from the non existing pain that flowed through my body. The lights in my bedroom were turned on and I heard Chris's concerned voice, but I couldn't truly make it out. All I could say was 'help.' I felt him pull me into his arms and I snuzzled my body closer to his bare chest until I could calm down. Dad ended up taking me with him into his room and had me lay with him for the rest of the night.
