New York City, New YorkTi'Ron
Kissing Kay's forehead, I rub soft circles around her stomach to help ease more of her frustration with her contractions. She'd been agitated for the past four hours, and now she's beginning to grow even more impatient as they grow stronger.
She's now dilated at eight centimeters. With two more to go, I think her, me, and her family are all ready to welcome our son into the world. I've never felt more eager and more than excited to meet someone before in my life.
Creating a life takes little work, but raising one takes a lot. We're not ready to be parents, but we are more than willing to prepare ourselves and learn along the way.
Kay groans, frowning in he process as she turns her body over onto the opposite side of mine. She wanted me to lay with her while she slept, or at least tried to sleep, just so I can be the object she grabs on to whenever her contractions start to kick back up.
Rubbing her side gently, she reaches around to my hand and grabs, pushing it away from her side.
I twist my eyebrows in confusion, she hadn't done that since I started. "What's--"
"I don't need for you to start them up again, even if that makes sense or doesn't. Just don't touch me, okay? Can you go check and see who else is out there right now?"
"Alright," I say back to her, climbing down from the bed.
During the time before she was given the epidural, she begged me to call her family, which consists of Chezz, Kiki, Kapri, and Kameron. I tried calling Kori to deliver the message that his nephew is currently on the way, but he sent me straight to voicemail.
"My coochie hurt!" Kay yells out, a painful sounding groan following after.
I chuckle lightly and walk out of the room, noticing everyone standing outside waiting impatiently.
"How she doin' fam?" Chezz asks me, looking up from his phone.
"She's complainin', but she good for right now. Dilated eight centimeters, so she gone pull through."
"Once ten hits, it's over with, son. Time to rethink your whole entire existence." Mr. Brown says to me, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I chuckle with along with everyone else out in the waiting area. It feels good to be apart of a family that actually cares for one another.
My family on both sides happen to be the same way, regardless if my mom is gone or not. No one switched up on the other, and we all remain to keep contact with each other for any occasion anyone has going on.
As for my brothers, they're not a different ball game when it comes to family either, but they have their days whenever they feel like it.
Feeling my phone vibrate in my pocket, I pull it out to see a call coming in from Terrence.
"Hello?" I say as I answer the phone.
"What up bro! How's Kay? She still in pain?" He asks me, a female's giggling follows behind his words.
I know for certain that has to be none other than the main ho my mama warned me about-- and Kay too. Can't believe I was actually stuck on that whack ass pussy more than the advice, and warning signs my mama had given me.
She was destined to teach me and Kay before her time that not everyone you call a friend, is your friend. After the incident, and us finding out that Kay's pregnant, she turned into the complete opposite of what I grown to know.
