Vivian:
I made sure that when he woke up, I was gone. I just couldn’t do it. I thought that I could, that I could try to be with someone all night and wake up in their arms. I probably would’ve been able to do it too, if his words hadn’t been swarming in my head, repeating themselves over and over.
“I’m going to save you.”
It scared me. He knew I wanted saving, that I needed saving. Did he really mean it or was he just trying to get what he got?
“Hey!” A voice interrupted my thoughts.
I was at the office that day in a temp’s office just until they could send me away again. It was pretty easy for someone to find me if they were looking.
I turned to find Blaise in my doorway. He was smiling at me as he walked in even more.
“Is this a bad time?”
“No, actually it’s a good time. I’m about to go out to lunch,” I grabbed my purse.
“I’ll join you,” he smiled as he followed me out of my office.
We went to the small café that was close to my news office.
“So,” he started after we got our tea, “How did things go with Draco?”
I just looked at him. How did he know? Did Draco brag about it? Or did he tell him that he was for sure going to nail me? Was it some type of game?
“Hey, don’t look like that,” he put his hands up, “He didn’t tell me anything. I saw you two leaving together.”
“Oh,” I said feeling relieved.
“So?”
“So, what?”
“How did it go?” he was still on about that.
“It went alright.”
“Alright as in, we talked all night and he didn’t take me to bed,” Blaise asked seriously. That was the thing, when you thought he was trying to make a joke, he was being serious, “or he took me to bed but we didn’t talk.”
“He knows,” I blurted out.
“You told him everything?” He sounded surprised.
“Well, I had to. He was asking why I stopped talking to him at Hogwarts.”
“How did he react?”
“He just held me, then brought me to bed,” I remembered and instantly regretted that I left him.
“He’ll never change,” Blaise commented, “Getting a girl into bed is the first thing on his mind.”
“It wasn’t like that,” I insisted, “He was waiting. I don’t think he really cared if we did anything or not,” I paused, “He told me that he was going to save me.”
“He did what?!”
“It doesn’t matter,” I got up and started walking away because I saw Draco walking up the street, “I’ll catch up with you later.”
