Chapter 18: Love under the cherry blossoms

Hana POV

The birds in the garden were sing as I felt the fresh air touch my cheek. My legs were heavy as I moved out into the garden. Koi fish were swimming around in the pound as I walked passed. My eyes landed on a beautiful cherry blossom tree, that was in full bloom. In my left hand was a book giving to me by Byakuya. I sat down up against the tree and began reading the book. 

Ukitake POV 

"CAPTAIN, CAPTAIN" Kiyone kotetsu yelled running towards me from the other end of the hall with Sentaro right behind her. She stopped right in front of me breathing heavily like if she had run half way across the soul society. Kiyone and Sentaro started yelling all kinds of words, so you could not understand a single one of them. 

"relax what is wrong" I asked trying to calm them down as they spook in each other mouth. They kept quiet as Sentaro said "well you see captain" as he rubbed the back of his head. 

"what is it" I said having a bad feeling about what they were about to say. 

"you know the girl you said never to let out of our sight" Kiyone said. 

"you mean Hana" I said as they both nodded, while mumbling "we kind off lost her".

"WHAT" I snapped calming myself down quickly again. How could they loose her, she is sick it is not like she can get that fare away on her own. What is Mayuri finds about about this. Both of them were panic right in front of me.  A sigh came from me as I said "okay, you guys do not tell anyone about this understood, I will go find Hana". 

They both nodded and gave a bow as I walked passed. Okay Hana if I were you where would you go. A quick image came into my mind and I head for that spot. 

Hana POV

A giggle came from me as I had read half way through the book. It was a bit difficult seeing there were a lot of new words in it, that I had not seen before, but I got the idea of the story at least. My eyes glued back onto the next page as a voice behind me suddenly said "there you are Hana". 

My cheek became crimson as I recognized the voice and looked upwards seeing Ukitakes warm smile and his hair glitter in the sunlight. A sharp pain came in my heart as it pounded louder and louder.

"hey Ukitake-san" I said trying to smile without seeming too nervous.  He sat down next to me and his eyes landed on the book. 

"I see Byakuya gave you more difficult one this time" he commented. I nodded while saying "he said I was improving a lot, so he wanted to test my skills". A sigh came from him making me confused. 

"what wrong Ukitake-san" I said seeing the expression of someone that had a ton of weight lift off his shoulder. 

"you see my 3 and 4 seat told me you were missing, so I tried finding you and it took me sometime to find you, you had me worried for a moment" he said. I blinked my eyes at those word while saying "you were worried about me". 

Ukitake POV

I could feel my heart pound and my eyes becoming wide at the words I just said. Did I just tell Hana that I loved her,  I thought while looking down at her shy angel like face. My body felt like it was moving on its own as I grabbed a hold of her cheek and guided her closer. 

Hana POV

My face became hot as Ukitakes face came closer and closer to mine. What is happening, why is this happening. I closed my eyes when he was just a few inches from me and I could feel something soft pressing onto my lips. It was quickly pulled away and when I opened my eyes, I saw Ukitake shaking his head saying "I am sorry", while his cheek were a light crimson. He apologized over and over.  When he rose from the ground to walk away I grabbed a hold of his captains got. What is this feeling, I thought. 

"Hana" he said while looking down at me. I rose from the ground and went on my tippy toes and pressed my lips on to his. His arms wrapped themselves around me as he pulled me closer. The kiss was sweet and warm. It felt like the world around me vanished and all the pain I had felt washed away. 

Ukitake separated us and I gasped for air not having realized for how long our kiss had lasted. He smiled down at me while saying "I love you". I felt moist in my eyes as a small formed on my lips and I pressed myself against his chest. 

"I love you too" I mumbled feeling his hand pet my head. I felt safe in his arm, the pain locked up inside of me was all gone when I was wrapped in his arms. The cherry blossoms danced around us.

 "UKITAKE" a voice yelled out. Ukitake let go off me and we turned towards my big brother that was completely red in his face as he yelled "what the hell, do you call this protecting my sister". 

"big brother" I mumbled but was cut off by brother yelled "I am going to take Hana with me and keep her as fare away from you as possible" as he grabbed onto my hand pulling me away from Ukitake. 

"Mayuri WAIT" Ukitake said taking a hold of my other hand. 

"what is it your traitor" Mayuri said. 

"Mayuri, please I love Hana with all my heart" Ukitake pleaded. 

"I don't care, I wont let anyone touch my sister" brother said pulling me so Ukitake hand released mine. Brother pulled me away from Ukitake squads base, while cursing Ukitake-san name. 

"brother" I mumbled

"that son of a......" brother continued.

"BROTHER" I yelled earning his attention.
