We have been driving for 2 hours already and I was so tired. It was almost 7 O'clock at night and I was definitely getting tired. I was just about to close my eyes and fall to sleep for a little while but right as I did I saw something familiar. I quickly sat up and looked at a street sign as we drove by it. It said Hiltons Avenue. Yep that definitely was familiar. It's the street I lived on before I went to the orphanage. I quickly sat up and looked around eagerly for my old house, the house I had last seen my parents in. Everyone must have noticed me sitting up so frantically because I saw Seth look in his rearview mirror to me and everyone else gave me little glances.
I threw my head every direction I could and tried to see if my house was still there. After about a few seconds of searching I finally saw it. My old house, still in the same condition it had been 9 years ago, but no one was living in it. It looked like it had been abandoned and no has lived there since I did.
Slowly the car began to pull to the side of the road and then it stopped. I looked to Seth who was looking back to me with his pail, cold face.
"If you'd like. You can go in for a little while before we head back to our home" He told me nicely. I widened my eyes and looked back to the house. Was I ready to go back inside the house? Could I go back inside?
I slowly opened up the car door and slowly stepped out. I walked across the street not even looking both ways, I just starring at the house.
When I reached the front door I slid my hand across the old wood, getting little glimpse of me as a child as I played outside with my parents. I slowly opened the door and walked into an old musty smell. There was definitely no body living here. I walked in and looked around. Everything was the same. All the furniture was still here with spider webs covering them and old photo's on the wall collecting 300 pounds of dust. I slowly walked up the main staircase that led to my room, a bathroom, and my parents room. I hesitated to go forward. I grabbed ahold on the railing and another image popped in my head. I remembered running up and down the stairs away from my parents as we played hide and seek together.
I pulled my hand away and continued up the staircase. As I reached the top I was already at my room. I opened the door and looked inside. My bed was still all messed up with clothed and toys on the floor and posters of KoRn, My Chemical Romance, and Paramore. I looked to the left of me and my little computer was sitting covered in dust. Besides that was a whole shelf of games like Grand Theft Auto 5, The Evil Within, Dead Or Alive 5, Resident Evil, Minecraft, World Of WarCraft, and Magic. Yes, I am a geek I know. I walked out of my room and right past the bathroom and headed straight for my parent room. The door was closed. I held my hand to the door nob and jumped when I could see an image of someone wearing a big black coat was imprinted in my mind.
I jumped back from the door and held my hand to my chest. I grabbed it again and opened it up quickly. When I did that, I then heard a loud, blood curdling scream. It sounded exactly like my mothers. I Jumped back again but then went into the room. The room looked completely different from the night I last saw my parents, dead on the floor and bed. The walls were painted white over but you could see little pieces of red blood on the bed frame and the wooden floor boards still. I walked over to their bed and dragged my hand across the naked bed. I felt a tear run down my face as I remembered the horrible images of that night.
I slowly walked out of my parents old room and shut the door behind me. I began to run back down the stairs but when I past my room I saw something on the floor. I stopped and picked whatever it was up. It was square shaped and all wrinkled up. I picked it up off my floor and looked at it carefully. I dropped my mouth open and gasped when I realized what it was. I was a picture, a picture of my mom, my dad and I all together in front of the front door on my 7th birthday. I had the biggest smile on my afce and so did my parents. I grabbed the picture and held it to my chest so tight I started to wrinkle it even more. I pulled it away folded it up and held it in my hand securely. I ran down the stairs and out of the house still as a couple tears ran down my cheek. I whipped them away when I got closer to the car. I sat back down, buckled up and smiled at them.
