Walls (Bucky Barnes)

Chapter 6

Maddie's POV

It was a week after the very stressful shopping trip with S and Bucky, I was sat in the comfort of my own bedroom. It was all peaceful and I was just sat on my bed reading my next mission plan. It was extremely hard trying to get both of the guys to understand modern technology but I got some parts across. Enough to get them a phone and a very strong case for both of them. Yet somehow Bucky had broken his phone because of his metal arm, so Tony made him his very own special (basically indestructible) phone.When I was reading the mission plan I saw that Bucky wasn't listed for my partner. I decided to ignore it as it was most likely a mission that didn't require two people.

I was walking into the kitchen when FRIDAY said I was required to go on the mission early. I ran up to my room and got in my black uniform. I walked to the helicarrier and saw that I had a backup team. Fury came on the carrier and explained the mission in more detail. It was to take out a Hydra base. I started to think about why Bucky hadn't come on this mission as we were now partners but I decided to just let it go. As I had the backup so if something was to happen I wasn't completely alone. But then again, they weren't the best team as they weren't completely done with training. But I guess this is what I have to work with for this mission.

I returned from the mission with a bullet wound on my stomach. It went straight though so at least they didn't have to try and get a bullet out. I walked to the medical bay and saw Helen in their with Nat. "What are you doing here?" I asked Nat as I sat on the medical bed. "I heard that you had been shot and I had to know if you were alright. How did this happen?" She asked as Helen started to fix the damaged tissue. "The stupid team I went with didn't cover me when I needed it. But we got the mission done." I stated. "Why wasn't Bucky there?" She asked and sat next to me. "I don't know. I just thought Fury wanted the team to go on an actual mission. Or that it didn't require two Avengers on this one mission." I said as Helen put a bandage around my stomach. "Oh, I heard him say to Steve that he was meant to go on this one. Maybe he had to do something for Fury." She said and helped me off the bed. "Thanks Helen. And I'm sure it was probably that. I'll ask him tomorrow." I said and with that we left the medical bay.
