Maggie has always had a taste for adventure, her thoughts consumed by lost cities and valuable treasures just asking to be found. Elena wants a normal life and Maggie wants to give up her dream for the one she loves, it's strange how they move to the known origins of pirate John Halsey and discover a few things inside his home...

"I swear to god if you've blown our life savings on that stupid-" I cut her off before she insults me regarding the rather beautiful tribal masks I'd been looking into buying, her voice is strained like it pains her to talk about me spending money.

I hold tightly onto the steering wheel as I speak causing her to fall silent. "Relax, you're going to love it." I assure her as I try to remember the directions to the damn place as I follow the windy road, my eyes search for the turn off I remember but it doesn't seem to be in the near distance at all. Instead of showing my obvious panic I stay calm knowing we can't have passed it already.

"Love it?" she repeats in an almost mocking tone and the small laugh at the end tells me she literally has no faith in me. I expect it after the hell I put her through the last few years, honestly I expected her to leave me a long time ago due to my rather strange obsession with famous missing pirates and explorers. "Maggie, money is tight at the moment and the house needs some work doing on it- whatever I'm going to love...is probably just a waste of money." she adds.

"I wouldn't bring you all the way to Massachusetts if it wasn't important." I tell her totally avoiding the money talk. "It might be important for you, not me." her voice is sad as she leans her head on the car window, it's like she can't expect something good from me or see I'm trying really hard to make things better. I notice the turn a few seconds later and grin turning the indicator on as I slow down, she sits up straight as she notices us turn of into a small drive. I say nothing as we slowly go down the dirt road under the concealment of trees, after a few meters we pull out into an open space that is the drive to a large house that was insanely cheap and a lot bigger than our current one.

Elena takes a deep breath as I turn the engine off leaning back in my seat. "I bought us a new start." I quickly say.

"I'm sorry for snapping at you." she simply says her eyes locked on the building.

"Do you like it?" I ask.

Elena smiles "I love it."

"Good because we're moving in today." I announce before removing my seat belt and swiftly leaving the car, she hurries out after me in clear panic "what? How?!" she worries "all ours things are back at home."

I nod with a small laugh "Nathan is sorting everything out for us, don't worry, me and him have been planning this for months." I tell her.

"I love you." she chuckles.

"I know, how about we go check out inside" I say and we both hurry towards the front door like children running to the tree on Christmas morning, I'm just happy she's happy and we finally have the chance to start fresh and put our old life behind. Elena was never happy with my obsessions and it put a strain on our relationship, as much as it hurts to leave it all behind, it would hurt more to lose her because I can't control a hobby.

Nathan and Sully arrive the next day with a haul of the things we needed to bring, odd furniture and stuff we'd hoarded over the years are left to the new owners of the house. Elena and the other two start bringing everything inside while I look through the attic, the last owner of this place died and apparently no one came to claim items- so they came with the house. I note how small the attic is when walking around, it barely reaches past half the house and I run my hand along the wall that seems to cut the attic in two.
