Nathan and Ivy have been friends since they were young, they lived a criminal life together and slowly transitioned into a normal life together. Nathan married and Ivy is good friends with the couple but thing's don't seem to be going well, not to mention someone's thinking they married the wrong person...but that's not all the issues in the pairs life.

Rain pours heavily creating a deafening sound as it connects with the concrete ground, the drops are harsh and fast making it impossible to see more than a few foot in front. Ivy sighs looking out of the car window watching the rain, it's cold and she only has a thin jacket to protect her from the weather. It's been ten minutes since she arrived, she would've jumped straight out the car and bound up to the house if she hadn't noticed Elena's car missing.

"Ah fuck it..." she mutters after a few moments, she can't sit here all night and for all she knows Nathan took his wife's car out for some reason. Ivy pulls her hood up and throws the door open, she ducks locking the car rushing towards the house. After jogging the few stairs and reaching cover at the front door she rings the bell shaking the drops from her jacket.

Nathan opens the door and straight away she notices something's not right, he looks at her like he did when his brother 'died' and she questions him instantly. "What happened?" she blinks at him looking for a reaction in his eyes or an expression, he's an easy person to read.

"Elena's staying with her parents, she packed a bag..." he tells her, his voice dull and he sighs.

"Oh, was curious about her car being missing" Ivy nods giving him a sympathetic smile as she shoves her hands into the jacket pockets. "Uh, come on in it's cold old there" he mutters pulling the door open wider for her.

It's warm inside and Ivy appreciates it as she slides her jacket and shoes off. "Elena and you were suppose to hang out tonight, right?" Nathan asks as they wander to the living room, the place is messy and lived in as usual, Ivy likes the fact it feels like a home and not just a house like her place.

"Yeah, I was gonna pick her up at seven and we'd have a girly night at mine. I tried calling but..." she breathes.

Nathan nods gesturing to the phone on the coffee table. "Left her phone here, didn't want me to call or text I guess. It was serious this time."

"You'll be fine, she probably just needs some space" she mutters even though she doubts it, the marriage sounds like it's almost over and expects to deal with two hateful friends at some point. Nathan takes a deep breath as he sits on the sofa, he leans forward putting his head in his hands and Ivy sits beside him scooting close so she can comfort him. After the shit situations they've gotten themselves into over the years and the losses dealt with, comforting each other is easy. In silence Ivy puts an arm around his back hugging his side, she leans her head on his shoulder and takes a deep breath letting him have quiet. It seems like they may separate again, like they did four years ago before eventually sorting their shit out and putting aside their differences. Ivy wasn't there for Elena though, only Nathan and the memories of the time they spent apart comes into mind, she quickly sets them aside though as the things that happened can't be brought up again. Elena doesn't know.

Nathan eventually brings his hands away from his face, he glances to the side and looks at his bestfriend as she daydreams, her pretty green eyes staring at nothing. He's not sure how she hasn't aged, looking at her he thinks back to the first time he noticed how beautiful she was when she was eighteen and it's like she's not changed since.

"Ivy. I think this is it..." he trails off referring to his marriage.

Her eyes flicker to his and she frowns at the look in his eyes, those light blue eyes that remind her of his brother even though his are dark as can be. Both share an innocent look at times though and they don't fail to make her feel some kind of emotion. "Elena loves you and you love her, shit happens...you'll be a stronger couple after this" she smiles wanting to be positive.
