Chapter- 19

WOW! Now this is I was not expecting. I know, I am being a lazy a**. But It's getting difficult to update in last semesters.

“What was that?” Mark asks Klaus once he confirms we are alone in the parking area.

“What?”Klaus tries to act innocent.

“What have you been hiding Klaus? Why Suzanne had no idea of who Caroline was? Leave it! She didn’t even know that you are goddamn married!”

“What’s wrong guys?” here comes my best friend! Great! Just great!

I hesitantly look at Klaus and he is already looking my way.

“Klaus! You can’t hide it from us anymore! Just say it will you?” Mark sighs.

“What is he hiding? Caroline, are you with him in this?” Ada holds my hand expectantly.

GAME OVER!!

“It’s not her fault. It was my entire plan.” Klaus says. What? Why is he taking all the blame to himself?

“No, he is lying. We both are in this together.”

 Klaus shook his head, “No Caroline. Don’t do that. You are in this because of me.”

“Enough both of you! Will you just spill the beans?” Ada shouts.

“Fine!” Klaus sighs and then sighs again.

“We don’t have whole night here” Mark says.

“Will you just shut up and let me do the talking?” If I say Klaus is frustrated, that would be an understatement. Well I am no different than Klaus. I have no idea how Mark and Ada are going to react to this? Will they hate us? Am I going to lose my best friend?

“Alright! But at least let’s move to some place private?” Klaus exasperates.

“Fine by me” Mark snaps.

“Me too” Ada chimes in.

The distance from the club to back home is still silent but its uncomfortable rather I should say its deadly. Oh god don’t make me lose my best friend or Klaus’s best friend too. Sweet heavens! Is this little talk going to cost Klaus too much? Well Mark is his business mate too. And well the little thing between Mark and Ada is going to die away? I am a killer! I killed something beautiful they might have had in future. I destroyed their chances to be together.

“We’re here” Klaus’s voice seems distant but effective enough to bring me out of my thoughts. I blink and find him standing towards my side holding the door for me. Wow! I Have no idea when we reached here? And I didn’t even notice him getting out of the car and rushing towards…

“They’re waiting for us” He speaks again. This time it’s soft as cream. He smiles a little. Well god knows if it is to assure me or him. And it’s working. I smile at him and accept his hand.

Once we are inside Mark and Ada have seated themselves on the sofa and Ada… She looks so sad. I have made her sad. I am a stupid cow!

“Now, shoot” Mark seems as agitated as if ready to go for a hand to hand fight.

Klaus places a little of his hand at my back and makes me sit on the sofa facing Mark and Ada. Then he sits beside me.

“After a dinner at Caroline’s home, was ruined by our heated arguments. Me and father head home. I had a huge row with him for not getting married. I mentioned Suzanne, that got the best of him and he had a heart attack. My car broke on the way to hospital, but Caroline luckily passed our car and helped me out. A lot!” He smiles and I naturally return him with a genuine mine.
