hyungwon sobbed for hours. he lay curled into hoseok's chest at the top of the hill raking his fingers down the older boy's chest in desperation and heart break.
hoseok cried with him, he cried for jin, and jeongyeon, and namjoon, and for his poor beautiful hyungwon.
when the sun rose hoseok decided it was time to take the younger boy home. hyungwon's eyes were red and fragments of tears still remained on his cheeks, but he looked at peace while asleep, finally.
hoseok scooped him up and began to head back to hyungwon's home.
he decided that no fucks were to be given today and carried the petite boy through the front door.
hyungwon's mother was sat at the table staring at the wall giving no reaction to the sound of the door opening.
"auntie?" hoseok said placing hyungwon gently on the couch before walking over to the woman.
"hoseok," she said staring at him, "how nice to see a familiar face."
she smiled robotically.
"auntie, are you alright?"
she met eyes with him again and tear streaked down her face, "i told him where he was, i thought he would just bring him home, i didn't think that, that-"
"auntie it's not your fault, please don't cry, please, jin would be very unhappy if he saw you were upset, it'll be okay," hoseok rubbed the woman's arms as she cried attempting to comfort the mourning mother.
"my son is dead."
"auntie you need to rest."
the frail lady didn't object as hoseok helped her stand up and climb the stairs to her bedroom. he removed her shoes and covered her up with the blankets.
"sleep well auntie."
hoseok returned to the main floor and picked up hyungwon once again carrying him to his bedroom. he pulled off hyungwon's shoes and jeans replacing them with sweatpants.
he swiftly changed then crawled into the bed beside hyungwon.
the younger boy's eyes were open when hoseok laid down.
"hyungwon you should slee-"
hoseok's words were cut off by a pair of lips. hyungwon crawled on top of him kissing him sloppily and fast.
as much as the older boy wanted to continue this he knew something was wrong.
"hyungwon, hyungwon please, why are you acting like this," hoseok said gripping the small boy's thin arms and pulling him off of his body.
"let me kiss you," hyungwon said forcefully attempting to crawl back onto to hoseok.
"please, please just tell me."
"i want to forget, i just want to forget, you always help me forget." hyungwon began to cry curling up in hoseok's arms once again.
hoseok hugged him tight running his hand up and down hyungwon's protruding spine.
"can i tell you something, you might not like to hear it, but i still would like to say it."
hyungwon nodded peering curiously at hoseok.
"jin and namjoon are probably much happier where they are, same with jeongyeon. imagine if they would have had to suffer the rest of their lives here not being able to express themselves and their adoration of each other, it would have been terrible. jeongyeon would have never been able to love her girlfriend down the road, she's probably in paradise waiting for her right now. jin's probably wearing a beautiful dress and standing happily alongside namjoon running down a road in a beautiful place. i know that it's really hard to watch your brother go so young, and not being able to see him is most likely heartbreaking, it's sad for me too, but he's probably very happy hyungwon, he probably wants you to be happy too."
